The Sweetest Memory Made
Brian opened the loft door and his senses were immediately
assaulted by the sweet smell of chocolate. His laughter floated on the air as he
saw Justin dancing amidst the disaster in the kitchen. Crossing the loft, he
turned the volume down on Adam Lambert blasting throughout the open space.
The beautiful blond turned at the silence and flashed that devastating smile
that always sent chills down Brian's spine.
“Bri, I didn't hear you come in.” He wiped his hands on the pale pink apron that
Emmett had given him three Christmases ago and hurried over to kiss his lover.
Brian chuckled softly and leaned down to press a light kiss to Justin's full
lips before speaking. “I don't know how you could hear your own thoughts over
Glambert.”
Justin playfully punched the tall, dark haired ad man, acting as though he was
offended. “Don't insult Glambert, Bri. You know that kid is hot as fuck, and
you'd fuck him if I let you anywhere near him.”
Smirking, Brian removed his jacket and tie, tossing them both across the back of
the white Italian leather couch. “Yeah, yeah, keep dreaming Sunshine.” Nodding
toward the kitchen then settling his dark eyes back on his lover he teased,
“What's going on in there and why the fuck are you reminding me of Betty Crocker
tonight?”
Gasping, Justin ran back to the kitchen, pulling the oven door open and removing
two round cake pans brimming with chocolate fluffiness. “I'm making your
favorite, Chocolate Snickers Cake.”
Licking his lips, Brian moved to lean on the counter, watching as Justin
expertly removed the cakes and placed them on the cooling racks. “What's the
occasion?”
The frown spread quickly across the younger man's face, before being replaced
with a nonchalant expression. “No occasion, just thought I'd be nice.” His mind
raced to the anniversary gift tucked away in the drawer behind him, crushed that
Brian didn't remember.
Brian watched the emotions cross his lover's face, knowing that Justin believed
he'd forgotten their anniversary, and he kept the charade up just a bit longer.
“Hmmm, the last time you made me a cake like this I got in trouble for not
remembering some special day. What'd I forget this time?”
Sighing, Justin just shook his head and turned back to the cakes, not wanting to
show Brian how hurt he truly was.
Brian walked around the counter that separated them and stood behind Justin,
pressing against his lover's back, inhaling the scent of Justin's citrus scented
shampoo. Wrapping his arms around the blond's shoulders he casually held out the
plane tickets to Hawaii.
Justin's squeal of glee was more than enough thanks, what came next was just
icing on the cake. The younger man turned in a flash and kissed his partner
passionately. His hands expertly began to unbutton Brian's shirt, as he smiled
against his lips. Reaching behind him, Justin grabbed a can of the chocolate
frosting and grinned up at Brian before running towards the bedroom.
Brian quickly gave chase and the two men spent the remainder of the evening
happily enjoying their dessert off of one another. Both men would remember this
anniversary as the sweetest they'd ever shared.
