"What the fuck did you just say?"

"I'm not saying it again Sunshine."

"Oh there is no fucking way you are getting away with that Kinney. You don't just throw out an I love you over breakfast nonchalantly and expect me to just act normal."

Brian leaned across the coffee table and kissed his partner softly before picking up his fork and taking a mouthful of eggs.

"Damnit Brian."

"What?"

Justin watched his lover play the role of innocent victim and laughed. "And I sure ain't buying the I'm innocent routine."

"But I am innocent."

"You are about as innocent as I am Mr. Kinney." Justin stood, kissed Brian's lips and picked up his plate, heading for the kitchen.

Brian looked down at his own plate, pushed the eggs around with the fork, licked his lips and called out, "Aren't you going to say it back, Sunshine?"

Justin stuck his head out around the bar and looked shocked. "You really meant it?"

"Of course I meant it. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, Justin."

"Who the hell are you and what did you do with Brian?"

"I can take it back," Brian said looking back at his plate.

"Don't you dare." Justin crossed the room and sat down on the floor next to his lover. He searched Brian's face for any kind of clue that this was all a joke. "Aren't you the one who said 'words don't mean anything?"

"Sometimes you just need to say them."

"This isn't some joke is it? God Bri, please tell me this isn't a joke."

"No joke, Sunshine."

"You really mean it? You really really mean it? You really love me?"

"I thought you knew that."

"I do, Bri, but."

"I've never said it."

"I never expected you to."

"You never thought I would."

"But you did. Why?"

"Because it felt right."

"Sitting on the floor in an empty loft felt like the right time to profess your love?"

"Yep."

"Say it again?"

"Why?"

"Because I need to hear it again."

"Justin."

"Please?"

"I love you Justin."

"I love you too, Brian."

Justin threw his arms around his lover's neck and both men fell to the floor laughing. Wrestling free Brian sat back up and kissed Justin again.

"Don't get used to me just saying it."

"Once was enough to last me the rest of my life."

"Then why'd I have to say it twice?"

"Just so I could make sure I heard you the first time."

"You twat."
