Spontaneous Gift Giving

Part 1

“He’s going to hate it.” Ted said with a shake of his head.

“He’ll kill you.” Melanie commented.

“I can’t believe you bought that!” Emmett almost shrieked.

“What’s all the fuss?” Debbie asked as she came over to the table. They were all at the diner perusing the gift Justin just bought for Brian. Debbie looked at the gift, then looked at Justin. “Are you insane? He’ll murder you!”

“That’s what I said.” Melanie put in.

“I don’t know if he’ll go that far but he will definitely be pissed.” Lindsay finally said, having been stunned silent upon first seeing it.

“We’ll soon find out.” Emmett said, seeing Brian walk in the door. Justin quickly stuffed the item back into the bag before Brian could see it.

“What’s up?” Brian asked. He grew immediately suspicious when everyone got quiet upon his arrival.

“Nothing.” They all said in unison, making Brian even more nervous.

“Justin got you a little gift.” Ted said with a slight smirk. Brian looked at Justin with a raised eyebrow.

“What’s the occasion?” Brian asked.

“No occasion....I just saw it and it made me think of you.” Justin was turning as red as the gift bag sitting beside him.

“Well?” Brian said. Justin handed over the bag and Brian started to worry when everyone seemed to brace themselves. Brian reached into the bag and was a little confused when he pulled out a bright red t-shirt. He knew that Justin loved him in red. It was the black lettering on the front of the shirt that made him understand why everyone was acting the way they were. In big letters on the front of the shirt it said wreckless teenager cleverly disguised as responsible adult. Brian just smiled and put the shirt back in the bag. “It’s cute.” He said. They let out a collecting sigh of relief.

Part 2

Justin walked into the loft and was a little surprised to find it empty. Brian had said he’d be home, but he was nowhere to be found. Justin sighed and shook his head. Once again he’d expected too much from Brian. He simply shrugged and moved over to the couch to put his things down. That’s when Justin noticed the wrapped box sitting on the coffee table. He could tell by the meticulous way it was wrapped that Brian had done it. He was definitely a perfectionist in all things. Justin wondered who the gift could be for since he couldn’t think of anyone who had a birthday coming up. He walked over and picked up the box. There was a small card tucked under the ribbon, so Justin looked at it and his eyes went wide when he saw his name on the card.

“Saw this and thought of you. Couldn’t resist, B.” was all the card said. Justin smirked and looked at the wrapping paper. It was a beautiful blue that was wrapped in a gold colored ribbon. Brian was also big on symbolism, which should have clued Justin to the fact that the gift was for him. He wondered for a second if he should wait until Brian got back before opening the gift. His impatience won out, however, and he very carefully unwrapped the package. He slowly opened the box and moved aside the tissue paper inside. When he saw the shirt in the box he nearly fell off the couch he was laughing so hard.

“So I take it you like it.” Brian said from the bedroom doorway. He’d been in the bathroom the entire time, just waiting for Justin to open the gift. Justin stood and walked over to Brian, wrapping his arms around his neck and kissing him.

“I love it.” He started nibbling on Brian’s earlobe. Brian moaned and pulled Justin into the bedroom. On the table sat a black t-shirt which read in white letters “Who needs big tits when you have an ass like this?”
