He Who Laughs Last, Thinks Slowest

It was Sunday evening; Debbie had summoned the whole gang to her house for dinner.  It had been quite some time since the whole gang was together so she had made a very special dinner of all their favorites to mark the occasion.

Afterwards, they gathered around Debbie’s old TV to watch one of their favorite movies, “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.”  Emmett couldn’t help commenting on the clothes.  During the campfire scene, Justin got up to do his own version of the dance.  Brian scowled as Justin extended out his hand toward Brian daring Brian to join him.  He smiled brightly then got Emmett and Ted to dance.  Debbie sniffled into her tissues toward the end as Tick got reacquainted with his son.

Everyone laughed heartily throughout most of the movie at the jokes and innuendos then sang along to ABBA’s “Mama Mia” at the very end of the film.  When it was over, the gang helped Deb clean up then began to say their goodbyes.

At the door, Michael burst into hysterical laughter.

“What’s so funny, Mikey?” Brian asked as they all stared at Michael, waiting for him to get himself under control and respond to the question.

“I got it,” he finally answered.

“Got what, honey?”  Debbie asked.

“Where the fuck are we?!” Michael crowed proudly.  “I got it.”

“That’s nice, Mikey,” Brian snarked.

The gang groaned, rolling their collective eyes at the revelation regarding the punch line of a joke that was told in the film about 2 hours prior.

“What?” Michael asked as he stopped at the door to look at each face.

“Nothing, Michael,” Ted muttered, “just he who laughs last, thinks slowest.”

The gang burst out laughing at Teddy’s wisdom as they all headed for their cars.  Ben clamped his lips down to prevent himself from snickering at his poor naive spouse.

Just before the cars began to pull away from the curbs, the gang heard Mikey yell out, “Hey!” when he finally got it, again.
