If You Think...

Brian stared at his nearly empty loft as the two moving men walked out the door with his Italian coffee table.  It cost him a small fortune, paid by the commission he earned from one of his early ad campaigns.

He barely suppressed the groan as he wrote out a check to Lindsay for Gus.  It was going to have to last her and his son for a while.  His check balance was now a big whopping zero.

Justin walked in trying to lighten the mood and offer his support.  Brian didn’t want to think about the PIFA bill.

“Shit, I’m destitute,” Brian cursed.

“Nobody cares that you don’t have any money.  You’ll bounce back soon.  I have confidence in you.”

Brian nodded, smiling meekly at Justin’s smile.  His Sunshine, ever the optimist.  Brian allowed Justin to give him a hug, relishing in Justin’s never wavering enthusiasm.

As Brian held onto the steady rock that was Justin, he thought to himself, ‘if you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.’
