You're Back

He stood on the catwalk looking out onto the dance floor, surveying the kingdom. A sea of undulating men danced before him, all hopeful, vying for his unique attentions. A dark-haired beauty looked up and gave him a shy smile. He thought about doing the trick for all of a second, then shook his head no. The disappointed beauty pouted, making him chuckle.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw his lover enter the club and approach. A smug smile curled his lips upward.

“You’re back,” he said as his partner kissed his cheek.

“Yes, I am.”

“Very successful, I hear.”

“I’ll be here, waiting,” Justin assured his partner.

“Good,” Brian said with an arch of his brow. The lovers watched the crowd for a few minutes. The thumpa thumpa music was loud and yet comforting.

“You ready to blow this popsicle stand, Sunshine?”

“Very ready.”

“Then let’s go home.”

Brian slung his arm over Justin’s shoulder as Justin snaked his around Brian’s waist. The lovers left Babylon to continue their reunion together at home.
