Something Missing, Something Found

Part 1

Brian awoke minutes before the alarm clock sounded, turning it off before it could wake up his wife. Lindsay thought he was being thoughtful when he did that, but in fact, he didn't want to have to deal with her that early in the morning. Carefully, he got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. He hated to have to turn the shower on, but it was a workday, so a shower was necessary. He adjusted the water temperature to hot and stepped in, closing the door behind him.  He had shampooed his hair and, with eyes still closed, rubbed the bar of soap across his chest. A sudden draft of cool air startled him and his eyes flew open, only to see his wife joining him under the hot water. He groaned inwardly, but didn't say a thing.

It's not that he didn't love her. He did. But he also knew that something was missing from their relationship. He loved her, but he was not "in love" with her. He had been denying that for years and it was getting harder and harder for him to pretend. He didn't want to hurt Lindsay, but felt that was the inevitable conclusion to his deceit. He knew she had no idea what was wrong, only that something was wrong, and nothing she did was making it right.

"Let me do that, Sweetie," she said, taking the bar of soap from his hands and began rubbing it over his chest and down to his abdomen. She lightly massaged the taut muscles as she moved her hands further down his body. He couldn't even pretend it didn't feel good because his cock gave him away. He automatically reached up and cupped her breasts with his hands. He kept his eyes closed, trying to pretend he was with someone else. With his eyes closed, it was slightly easier to pretend it was another man's hands doing wonderful things to his body.

He took in a deep breath as she grasped his hardening cock in her hand. The soapy lather let her hand slide over the shaft easily. She rubbed the soft skin behind his balls and nudged the tip of one finger in his ass. She didn't like doing that, but he wanted it, so she obliged. When he was fully aroused, she stopped. "My turn, Baby."

Brian had been telling himself that sex was sex, the object of which was to get off. He gently squeezed her breasts, feeling the firmness.  He sucked each nipple until it stood out, hard and rosy from the pale breasts. He turned her to the glass wall of the shower, kissing her shoulders and nuzzling her neck while his hands continued massaging her breasts and abdomen. With one swift thrust he entered her. He let himself feel the sensations of his hard cock inside of her.

"Oh, Brian, yes," she panted as she met each thrust.

He let himself come soon after he felt the spasms he knew meant she had climaxed.

On Saturday morning a black SUV pulled up to the curb in front of the converted warehouse. Justin climbed out as his friends drove up in their cars. All three vehicles were loaded down with Justin's worldly possessions. Not much, really, to show for his twenty-five years.  Ethan had seen to that. At the thought of his ex-lover, a wave of sadness flooded over him. He took a deep breath, warding off the heavy pall that was threatening the day. He was starting over, on his own for the first time in his young life. And he planned on doing it right.

"Justin, honey, are you ready? Let's see this faaa-buuu-lous place you picked out, without my okay, mind you." Justin smiled at Emmett. Who could be sad around him?

"Let's go. Grab some stuff and I'll unlock the front door. We'll load the elevator and go up to the third floor. Hopefully, it'll take only a couple of trips."

"Then we get to party?" Emmett asked, hopefully.

"Then we get to unpack." Emmett's face fell. "Then we get to party."  Justin and Hunter laughed as Emmett's expression was once again happy.

"Emmett, you're hopeless," Daphne said, but was also laughing. She was the only girl, excuse me, female, of the group.

The elevator stopped on the third floor and the three men unloaded the boxes. Daphne had already gone in and started to put away the groceries. Justin stopped inside the door and looked around his very own, first and last months rent paid in full thank you very much, apartment.

Loft was the proper term, he guessed. It was one room, with a bedroom partially secluded from the rest of the space by half walls, and a bathroom in one corner. It was the smallest of the four loft spaces in the building, but it suited his needs well. One corner had large windows, letting in a lot of natural light. This is what sold him on the space. It was perfect for his painting, and would save the expense of a separate studio.

"Okay, boys and girl. Don't just stand there. Let's get this stuff unpacked so we can party!"

Several hours and not a few beers later, most of the boxes had been emptied. At least the important stuff was put away and the bed made.  Emmett was in the corner with his cell phone to his ear. Not an uncommon sight, but one that made Justin just a little bit nervous somehow.

About fifteen minutes later, the security buzzer sounded.. "Hey, Justin. It's me, Jason. I came to see your new place."

"My first guest," Justin exclaimed, as he buzzed his friend in. A few moments later, he pulled open the heavy door and was almost knocked over by the wave of people flooding into the room. They were laughing and greeted him with hugs and well wishes. Brightly wrapped gifts were thrown into his arms.

"I guess it's party time," he said to no one in particular as he closed the door. It was party time. Daphne had food and drinks on the table and Hunter was putting CD's into the player, and his guitar had magically appeared from somewhere. Justin took a deep breath and joined his friends.

Brian was at his computer, trying to catch up on some work due Monday morning. Lindsay hated it when he brought work home and huffed out of the loft to go see her friend Melanie when he pulled out his briefcase. The noise downstairs had started getting loud around ten, but now it was out of control and Brian was having a hard time concentrating. He had heard over a week ago that the third floor loft was leased, but no one had moved it. Well, it seems, they have now. As twelve thirty approached, Brian was getting angry. Lindsay wasn't home yet and nothing he tried for the new account was working. He decided to go downstairs to speak to the new neighbor, calmly, of course.

Barefoot, he took the steps two at a time. He didn't have to knock, as the door had been left wide open. He stood in the doorway, surveying the party before him, wondering who the host was.

"Come on in!" It was an attractive dark skinned girl with wild hair that greeted him. "I'm Daphne. Are you a friend of Justin's? I'm sure I would have remembered you if you were." Brian realized she was slightly drunk as she grabbed his shirt and pulled him into the room.

"Who's Justin?"

"Justin, you know, the one who just moved in."

"Oh. No I'm not a friend. I live upstairs."

At that, Daphne perked up, taking in the tall, good looking man standing before her. "Gay," she said to herself, despite the wedding band on his left hand. "Figures." She looked around the room until she spotted her friend. Grabbing Brian's arm, she dragged him across the room to a group of men who were laughing at something one of them had said.

"Justin," she said, tapping the shoulder of the blond, trying to get his attention. "Justin!" she said louder, hoping to be heard over the music.

"Hey, Daph," the blond said in a slightly slurred voice as he put his arm around her. "Emmett was just telling us about Todd's latest adventure in the backroom. You wouldn't believe it, but did you know..."

"Justin, listen to me. This is your upstairs neighbor," she said, pointing up with her finger. "You know, above us?"

"Ohhhh." Justin turned to face the man in question. "Hi, neighbor, I'm Jus..." His eyes travelled up from the tanned, muscular shoulders, to the chiseled jaw and into the most beautiful hazel eyes he had ever seen. "I'm, I'm, I'm really glad to meet you."

Brian had a similar reaction to the blond before him. He noticed the sparkling blue eyes and pink lips. He'd seen and even been attracted to good looking men before, but not like this. He was sure his mouth was hanging open, but hoped it had gone unnoticed by the man standing before him. He quickly pulled himself together and plastered a stern look onto his face.

"You know, some of us have jobs and even though it's Saturday night, we have to work. You are making that very difficult for me. It sounds like the party's at my place. I would appreciate it very much if you'd keep it down. A little."

Justin smiled widely. "Sure. But, ahh, there's another solution to this problem, you know. I mean, you could just stay and celebrate with us. It's my housewarming party, after all."

"I don't think so. Thanks. Just keep it down a little, okay?"

Justin nodded as Brian turned and left, his mind already trying to figure out how to seduce his gorgeous neighbor.

Brian hurried back upstairs, hoping to get away from the feelings that were overwhelming him. Feelings he wasn't quite sure how to deal with right now.
