Hot Stuff

Emmett walked into Babylon and made his way to the bar where the rest of the gang was hanging out.

“Em, you’re here. You aren’t still contagious are you?” Ted questioned. “You’ve been out of commission with that flu for over a week.”

“I’m in perfect health, Teddy. Now order me a Cosmo. I’m ready to party. Don’t want to spend another night on my own. Do you know how long a week is?”

“Seven days, the last I heard, Honeycutt.”

“Yes, Mr. Kinney, seven loooong, looong days and nights. And don’t call me Honeycutt.”

Just then the song changed and the voice of disco queen Donna Summer came over the speakers.

“I love this song!” Emmett shouted to be heard above the din of Babylon on a Saturday night. His arms were already over his head and his hips were swaying to the disco beat. “Come on, sweetie, let’s dance.” He grabbed Justin’s hand and quickly guided him toward the dance floor. Just a few steps from the bar he put his arm around Justin’s waist waiting for Brian’s admonishment.

“Keep your hands above the waist, Honeycutt,” Brian yelled and gave the resident queen a hard stare. Em just stared back and smiled knowing that Brian would never follow through with the implied threat.

Brian took a drink of his beer and pretended to be interested in what Mikey was saying, all the while keeping an eye on Justin. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust him, or Emmett, for that matter, but there was nothing more sensual than Justin on the dance floor. And maybe Justin in his bed.

“Don’t you just love this song, honey?” Again shouting to be heard. His eyes were closed and his body was swaying. Justin knew that Emmett wouldn’t have even heard a reply if he gave one so he just kept on dancing, but the smile on his face grew bigger as he watched his friend.

When the song was over Emmett wrapped his arm around Justin’s shoulder and led him back to the bar and his slightly miffed boyfriend.

Brian lifted Em’s arm from Justin’s shoulder as he’d done many times before. Justin reached for Brian’s beer but Brian swatted his hand away then handed the overly heated boy a bottle of water. Once he’d drank half the bottle he let Justin have the beer.

Several more songs played and Emmett danced each one not caring whether he had a partner or not.

That’s when he saw ‘him’. A little older than his usual choice, but that didn’t make any difference as he took in the entire gorgeous package…umm, man…not that the package was anything to ignore, either.

The first thing he noticed was his well muscled, but not steroid induced, chest and arms. This guy most assuredly worked out or had a physical job. You didn’t look like that by sitting in front of the TV eating chips and drinking beer. And he had a great smile and his eyes…yeah, his eyes.

Knowing he didn’t want to spend another night alone he set the almost empty Cosmo glass on the bar.

“Excuse me, boys, but I think I just spotted some hot stuff of my own.” He pushed himself away from the bar, and with a big smile and a flourish of swaying hips, walked up to the stranger.

“Hey, hot stuff. Haven’t seen you around here before. Buy you a drink?” He cocked his head flirtingly. “Or you can buy me one.”

The stranger took a step back and surveyed the colorfully dressed man. Evidently liking what he saw, he let a smile cross his face.

“Hot stuff, huh?”

“Definitely.”

“What’ll you have?”

“I thought you’d never ask. Just a beer, sweetie, at least for now.” Once they each had the beer safely in hand, Em took another long look at the man. Up close he was just as gorgeous as he looked from far away. Maybe even more so. “Do you have a name or do I just call you Hot Stuff all night?”

“All night, huh?”

“All night.”

“In that case, it’s Drew. But Hot Stuff will work, too.” He tapped his beer bottle to Emmett’s. “And you are …?”

“Emmett or just Em. Or whatever else you want to call me.”

He received a big smile in return. “So, where do you want this night to take place? I don’t do back rooms.”

“Well, as the situation would have it, my roommate recently moved out, so we have my place all to ourselves.” Em hooked his arm around Drew’s and quickly led him to the door.

The gang had been watching the two men from their place at the bar, each with their own thoughts.

“I’d do him,” Brian thought.

“He’s almost as hot as Brian.” Justin smiled. “Almost.”

“Good for you, Em,” Ted thought with a wistful look on his face.

“I’m glad I moved in with Ben. I wouldn’t want to have to listen to them all night.” Mikey felt a little shiver run through him.
