Aint that a Kick in the Head

Brian was sitting on the couch when Justin came home.

"Hey." Brian said.

"Hey, had a good day?"

"Yeah, not bad. You?"

"Fine, I finished the painting finally."

"Great."

Justin went to the couch to kiss Brian hello. He meant it as a brief kiss but Brian had other ideas so it lasted for a couple of minutes. Finally Brian let go.

"Wow, what was that for?" Justin asked.

"What, can't I kiss you without any particular reason?"

"Of course you can, but usually you have some ulterior motives." Justin said raising his brow.

"Moi?" Brian asked trying to act offended.

"Oui, toi."

"Okay. Anyway, have you seen Robbie Williams' concert at the Albert Hall?"

"You mean that one in which he sings swing?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah, I've seen it. Why?"

"Well I was watching it and one of the songs made me think of you."

"Really?" Justin asked smiling and came to sit with Brian on the couch.

"Yeah."

"Which one? And please don't say Mack the Knife."

Brian rolled his eyes. "No, it was Ain't That a Kick in the Head."

Justin furrowed his brows. "Is that a good thing?"

"Yes, it's a good thing. You were kind of a kick in the head for me."

"I was?"

"Yeah, in a good, life affirming way."

That statement earned Brian a sunshine smile from Justin.

"Do you remember any of the lyrics?" Justin asked.

"I remember one line that goes something like 'my head keeps spinning, I go to sleep and keep grinning, if this is just the beginning, my life is gonna be beautiful'. I've felt like that with you."

It felt so good for Justin to hear Brian say those words and all he wanted was to hug and thank him but he knew better not to; it would only embarrass Brian.

"You know, you weren't the only one who got a kick in the head."

"I wasn't?"

"No, and you know that." Justin said and pulled Brian into a passionate kiss.
