Kindred Love

Kiss and Tell

Carter stopped his jeep in front of the Novotney residence. Brian unhooked his seatbelt and looked over at the handsome man and smiled.

"Thanks for everything," Brian said sincerely.

"I didn't do anything," Carter said, but he knew that probably wasn't totally true. He and Brian had talked a long while, sharing pieces of their life with each other, both seeing the similarities in their experiences with their families and abuse. Carter offered Brian some of the best advice he'd ever hear:

"You can't let them get you down, you know, because if you do, they win. You have to get out there, and show them that you are better than them. That you can set out to do whatever you want, and become a big fat fucking success. After that, you just kind of sit back and let karma do its thing."

Carter had made up his mind at an early age that even if his father could physically beat him, he damn well couldn't beat him at life. He strove to be the best at everything he did. He was always popular and good at sports. He had been valedictorian of his high school. He had gotten a 1500 on his S.A.T.'s. He was at the top of his class in law school, and he planned on one day moving to New York and opening his own firm and being the best damn lawyer in the city. Last but not least, he was the best homosexual he could be. Now he felt the need to take this boy under his wing and to pass on his knowledge to him, to ensure that he wouldn't continue living his life as a victim.

"Yes, you did," Brian said, bringing Carter out of his thoughts. "I didn't talk about my home life for so long. I kept it bottled up inside and felt so alone and depressed. It really helps to talk about it, and it's nice to talk to someone who can relate," Brian said.

"Well, I'm glad I could help you out. At least now I can finally say I've done something good for mankind," Carter joked.

Brian laughed at his new friend. He reached for the jeep's door handle, but first looked at Carter. "I will see you again, won't I?" he asked with hope in his voice and facial expression.

"You're a smart kid, what do you think?" Carter said with a smirk.

Brian gave him a big smile. Carter looked at that smile and felt himself fall under the young brunette's spell. It was then he realized that with just his smile this young man would have that same affect on many men who crossed paths with Brian. This kid would be dangerously sought after as he got older, and from what Carter guessed, he'd only get better with age.

"I think you always mean what you say and do," Brian reiterated. He couldn't help himself as he stared at Carter's handsome face. They made eye contact, and gray eyes bore into hazel ones. The man wore an expression that Brian was not familiar with, but whatever it was, it caused a tightness in his pants.

Brian's eyes fell down to Carter's juicy red lips that looked so inviting, and he found himself leaning towards them until he felt his own lips against them. Carter was a bit surprised at Brian's sudden move to kiss him, but did not pull away from the boy. The kiss was very soft at first, and Brian felt electrical shocks all throughout his body as the kiss became more urgent. He felt Carter stick his tongue inside his mouth, and he allowed him access to explore, loving the feeling of the velvety tongue massaging his own. Carter was the first to break the kiss, both of them out of breath.

"Didn't see that coming, you sneaky little devil," Carter with a sly smile.

"I wanted to at least have something," Brian whispered with a smile. His smile fell with concern at the thought that the man might be angry with him. "I hope you're not upset that I did that," Brian said. He had even surprised himself that he had made such a bold move.

"Are you kidding?" Carter asked with a small laugh, which made Brian relax.

"You're a natural. You're going to make one hell of a stud one day," Carter said. Brian blushed at the compliment and smiled back at Carter.

"Later," Brian said, and got out of the car, the smile still planted on his face. He wondered if this "high" would ever go away. He was floating, and never wanted that feeling to leave him. His first kiss. He would always remember it as being absolutely perfect.

"Later, stud," Carter called out, and drove away. Brian walked into the house at 10:30p.m., only to be greeted by his Aunt Debbie as soon as he walked in.

"Have a good time?" Debbie asked with one eyebrow raised and a face that said she was not too happy. Brian wasn't sure if he should run.

"Uh, yeah. Well um, I'm going to bed now, goodnight..." Brian said quickly and tried to escape up the stairs, when he heard his aunt stop him.

"Hold it!" she called out to him. He paused in midstep, and turned around to face her, unsure of what to expect.

"Get your cute butt back down here," Deb demanded.

Brian slowly made his way back down the stairs to where Debbie was standing and nervously waited for her to start yelling.

"Honey, I'm not blind, you know. I saw Carter's jeep out front," Debbie said. Brian immediately looked away from her, avoiding her eyes in guilt.

"He didn't hurt you, did he?" she asked, her voice suddenly softer and full of sincerity.

"No, Aunt Deb, he didn't. Nothing happened. We're just friends. He made that clear that that's all we'd ever be," Brian said softly.

Debbie nodded at her nephew. "That's not what it looked like to me," she said, looking straight into Brian's eyes in search of anything that would tell her that he was lying.

"Well, I kissed him goodbye, but that was it, I swear," Brian admitted. Debbie continued to stare into the hazel eyes and then gave a satisfactory smile.

"I believe you, kiddo," she said. Brian let out a sigh of relief.

"Just remember what I told you. There are plenty of young guys around your own age that you can experiment with. You're young. I want you to go out and have fun. But you should be going out and having fun with kids your own age. Got it?" Debbie asked.

"Got it," Brian answered with a small smile. Debbie gave her nephew a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Don't try to grow up so fast, Brian. Enjoy your youth while you can," she smiled. Brian nodded at her, and as he turned to go up the stairs, he felt her swat his behind. He laughed, and ran the rest of the way up the stairs.

"By the way," Debbie called from downstairs and he turned to listen to her before opening his bedroom door.

"Your groupies, who are bad liars by the way, are in Michael's room eating pizza. They're expecting you," Debbie said with a knowing smile and shook her head as she walked back into the living room to watch some TV. Brian frowned and then walked into Michael's bedroom. Michael, Josh and Emmett were sitting on the floor eating pizza and laughing when they noticed Brian walk in and looked at him with wide eyes.

"Oh, my God, Brian! What did Debbie say? We tried to tell her that you went to the Arcade, but she wasn't buying it. Are you in trouble? What happened?" Emmett asked, hardly taking a breath in between his sentences.

"Shit, Mikey, you weren't lying before when you said Deb knows things. It's fucking scary," Brian said and sat down next to his cousin and grabbed a slice of pizza.

"Well, tell us what happened with Carter," Michael urged.

Josh gave them a confused look. "As in Carter Stephens?" he asked with wide eyes.

"The one and only," Emmett sang. Brian rolled his eyes at his friend.

"You fucked Carter Stephens?" Josh asked with a shocked face.

"I never said that," Brian corrected him, and took a bite of a slice of pizza.

Michael frowned at his cousin. "Bri, I love you, but if you don't tell us what happened, I'm going to have to kill you," he said, with a serious face.

"Dramatic, Mikey," Brian smirked, and continued to gobble down on his pizza. He could feel their eyes on him, and he wanted to laugh. He knew they were dying to know what had happened with Carter.

"Briiiiaaaaan," Emmett whined.

"Come on!" Michael pushed.

"You can't just leave us in the dark like this," Josh added.

"All right, all right! Jesus. Nothing happened..." Brian heard the three of them exhale as if they had been holding their breath.

"I mean, not really..." Brian added cryptically.

Michael jumped up and grabbed a pillow from his bottom bunk bed and swung it at Brian, hitting him on the top of the head.

"Arrrgh!" Brian yelled but was laughing.

"You asked for that," Michael said laughing back at his cousin.

"Okay, fine. Nothing sexual happened. But I did kiss him," Brian admitted with a huge smile on his face.

"Oh, my God, he's not kidding; look at his face," Emmett said.

"So, what now? Are you guys like, gonna do it?" Josh asked.

"No, it's not like that," Brian said. "We just talked and I really like him. But he said that there was no way he would fuck a 14 year old," Brian told them.

"Well, what was up with that kiss?" Michael asked.

Brian shrugged. "I don't know. He was dropping me off, and we were talking, and I just looked at him, and he looked so fucking hot, I couldn't help it. I leaned in and kissed him," he admitted, his eyes slightly glazed over as he thought about the kiss.

"You mean YOU made the first move?" Emmett asked, his mouth hanging open.

"Yep," Brian smiled.

"Wow, I can't believe you did that," Michael said.

"Me either. I didn't plan it, it just happened," Brian told them.

"Did he freak out or was he into it?" Josh asked.

"Well, he didn't pull away from me. I think that is the only thing that will ever happen between us, though. He kind of just wants to look out for me. We have a lot in common," Brian explained.

"What would a 14 year old have in common with someone ten years older than him?" Josh wanted to know.

"It's private," Brian said sternly. Josh shrugged and left it alone.

"I can't believe you kissed him," Michael repeated. "Shit, you're so lucky, Brian. I wish it were me," Michael said, taking another bite into his pizza, not noticing the hurt look on Josh's face.

The boys laughed and joked around for a while. Michael, Josh and Emmett told Brian about the movie with Collin Ferrel, and how hot he was.

"Hey you guys want to watch a DVD? I've got Spiderman 1 and 2," Michael suggested.

"Ugh, Michael, we've seen Spiderman a billion times. Don't you ever get tired of that movie?" Emmett asked.

Michael looked at his friend like he had grown two heads. "No way," he said with a frown.

"Let's watch Kill Bill 2," Brian suggested. They all seemed to agree on that movie.

"Hey, Josh, I'll race you downstairs," Emmett challenged.

Josh gave him a devilish smile. "You're on. Onetwothreego!" Josh said really fast and headed for the door.

"Ohh you cheated!" Emmett yelled and ran after him.

Michael and Brian laughed at the other two boys. Michael picked up the box of leftover pizza to bring down to the kitchen.

"Hey, Mikey, is Josh spending the night?" Brian asked curiously.

"Um, I guess so. I mean, it's late, and he's still here. He might as well," Michael said, trying to hide his nervousness.

"What's going on with you two?" Brian asked.

"I'm not sure exactly. I mean, he acts like he likes me, but he has never asked me out," Michael said with a frown.

"Have you guys kissed or anything?" Brian asked.

"No, but we brushed hands when we were sharing popcorn at the movies," Michael answered.

Brian rolled his eyes at his cousin. "Do you like him?" he asked.

Michael blushed and then nodded. "Yeah. I like him a lot. I wish I knew what his deal was."

"You want me to find out?" Brian asked.

"No, it's okay. I want to know from him, if he does like me," Michael said.

Brian shrugged. "Okay."

"You know, Todd kept talking about you all night," Michael said.

Brian gave him a surprised look. "Really," he answered.

"Yeah. I think he really likes you."

"Hmm," Brian answered.

"What do you think of him?"

"I don't know. I don't really know him. He's cute, though," Brian said.

They heard Emmett's voice yelling from downstairs. "What's taking you guys so damn long," Emmett called out.

Brian and Michael sighed and went downstairs to join the other two and watch the movie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was after 1:00am when the movie finally ended. The four boys took turns yawning and started making their way up the stairs.
"Okay, who is sleeping where?" Brian asked.
"I'll sleep with you," Emmett immediately volunteered.
Brian shot him daggers. "Fuck no, not after what happened last time," Brian said.
"Come on, Brian, I was asleep! I didn't do it on purpose," Emmett pouted.
Brian sighed. "Fine, you can sleep with me, but if I feel your hand on my ass again, YOUR ass will be kicked out of my room so fast you won't even know what hit you," Brian warned.
Emmett held up his right hand, leaving his index, middle, and ring finger up. "Scouts honor," he promised.
Brian rolled his eyes and smiled. "All right, come on," he told him, opening the door to his bedroom.
"Yippie!" Emmett said, clapping his hands. He looked back over at Michael and Josh who were giving him a weird look.
"What? Brian's body temperature is so warm. We don't even need an electric blanket," he said. Then when Brian's head was turned, he added in a whisper, "Besides, who WOULDN'T want to be laying in bed next to Brian?" and pranced behind the brunet, and closed the door.
Michael and Josh turned and looked at each other a bit nervously.
"Well, I guess that just leaves me with you," Josh whispered. He saw Michael smile and then he followed him back into his room.
"So, um, do you want to be on top or bottom?" Michael asked.
Josh gave Michael a sexy look. "Whatever you like. I'm versatile," he answered Michael, with a sly smile.
"Uh, that's not what I meant," Michael said with a nervous chuckle.
"I know. It was just a joke to relax you," Josh said.
"Oh," Michael said sheepishly looking down. Then suddenly, before he knew what hit him, he felt Josh's lips touch his. He kissed him back and opened his mouth to allow Josh access to his tongue, which the other boy happily took advantage of. When the kiss ended Michael opened his eyes and felt a wave of dizziness.
"I like you, Michael," Josh whispered, lightly touching Michael's cheek with his hand.
"I like you too," Michael smiled.
Josh leaned in once more and this time just place a soft peck on the other boy's lips. "Goodnight," he said, and climbed into the bottom bunk and got under the covers.
"'Night," Michael said, and climbed up to his top bunk. He got under his own covers and closed his eyes, but knew he wouldn't be falling asleep any time soon, especially with the big hard-on he had. All he could think about was the guy he liked who had just made out with him, was here with him, in his bedroom, laying in the bunk below him. It was going to be a long night.
