“Did you ever think we’d get to this point?” Ray asked.

“Of course I did,” Gus joked.

“Liar.”

“Pop thinks I’m nuts, you know?”

“I knew he didn’t really like me,” Ray stated managing to keep a straight face.

“He loves you,” Gus assured his boyfriend, “but he thinks we both should sow some wild oats before we settle down.”

“That would be fine if I wanted anyone other than you,” Ray said nuzzling Gus’ neck.

They were waiting at the tiny apartment that they were going to share in New York City. The moving truck would be arriving soon, bringing the things that would begin the set up of their first home together. Both Gus’ and Ray’s parents had donated furniture and chipped in to get them what they needed to set up their apartment. And the day had finally arrived when that was about to happen.

Gus had garnered a job with a media company, having just graduated from Penn State and PIFA. He was looking forward to working on some major projects in film and internet. His future with Kinnetik was still up in the air. He might get into advertising in the future, but he wanted to make his own way first. Gus had also started a small internet company of his own where he did web design for those willing to pay well for his creativity and cutting edge ideas.

Ray still worked periodically for his father, but was articling with a law firm in New York. It didn’t leave him a lot of time for his father’s business. Some time in the not too distant future Ray would have to decide if he wanted law full time or real estate, or maybe he could figure out some method of combining the two. That had been harder to do than he had originally thought.

“What do you think is taking them so long?” Gus asked looking at his watch.

“Traffic.”

“It is bad here. Maybe we should have moved to Pittsburgh.”

“Are you having second thoughts about this whole thing?”

“Not about you, but New York…”

“It’s a great city. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere,” Ray said singing the lyrics of the song.

“Thank you, Frank Sinatra.”

“You know Frank Sinatra?”

“I know lots of things,” Gus declared.

“I know you do. So does your father.”

“Yeah, he loves old movies. That’s where I get some of my ideas for designs.”

“Really? Aren’t they kind of old fashioned?”

“Yeah, but they had style. I like to think my work has style too.”

“It does; your work is great.”

“Thanks,” Gus said with a big smile kissing Ray for the compliment.

The buzzer went off indicating that their furniture and possessions were starting to arrive. Gus walked over to push the button to unlock the front door of the building. “Movers,” he heard on the intercom. Gus released the door. Waiting a few minutes, he opened the door to the apartment.

“Pop?” he said in surprise as he saw who was standing there.

“That would be me,” Brian laughed as he hugged his son. “Kinney Movers at your service.”

“Hey, Gus,” Justin said as he followed Brian into the apartment, giving Gus a warm hug too.

“What are you guys doing here?” Gus asked. “I thought you were shipping my stuff.”

“Your bed and some other furniture are on a truck that should be here momentarily,” Brian said. “We brought your computer. It’s sitting in the hall. I thought your fine young backs could haul it in here, since Justin and I got it this far.”

“Wow, thanks, Pop, Justin. I thought I’d have to make a special trip back to Pittsburgh to get it. I’d never trust it to a moving company.”

“Once you’re out of the Pitts, it’s better not to look back. You might turn to salt,” Brian advised only half joking. He was glad Gus was getting his dream to come true. Brian had never managed to leave Pittsburgh, although that was what he had wanted so badly at one time. Now he wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else.

Ray laughed as he walked over to get a hug from each of the men.

“You ready for this, Raymond?” Brian asked.

“Yes, sir.”

“It’s a big step, living together full time.”

“I know.”

“Brian, leave him alone,” Justin said gently admonishing his husband.

“They should know what they’re getting into,” Brian retorted.

“Like you did.”

“I had no fucking idea.”

“And look how well it turned out.”

Since Brian couldn’t argue with that he didn’t say any more. The buzzer went off indicating that furniture was finally arriving.

They spent the next several hours setting up furniture and finding good spots for everything. They made up the bed and got all the dishes and kitchen utensils stowed. Finally as they were all getting tired, Brian suggested they order a pizza.

“A pizza?” Gus reacted. “You’re actually suggesting a pizza?”

“I take that back,” Brian said. “Gus, cook us a gourmet meal.”

“Wha…?”

“He got ya, Gus,” Ray laughed, heading to the counter in the small kitchen where they had already placed some takeout menus. He pulled out his cell phone and proceeded to order pizza.

“Not that I’m advocating a steady diet of takeout, Sonny Boy,” Brian said, taking the parental role.

“Like you didn’t live on takeout for years,” Gus snorted.

“Only the good stuff – Thai, Chinese, selected Italian.”

“You are so full of shit,” Gus laughed.

“Took you long enough to figure that out,” Brian replied, his tongue firmly in his cheek.

“I love you, Pop,” Gus said his face sobering. “I’m really glad you and Justin came today.”

“We’re glad too,” Justin said taking over for his husband when he saw the tears fill Brian’s eyes.

“Yeah, glad,” Brian managed to say. “This place doesn’t look so bad now that Justin and I have used our decorating expertise.”

“I’m surprised you didn’t bring Auntie Emm with you,” Gus replied.

“He wanted to come, but I thought it would be a day for … family.”

“I like that,” Gus replied with a warm smile.

When the pizza arrived, they sat around talking and reminiscing about the past. It was funny how moving into the future often led to examining the past. When most of the pizza was finished, Brian and Justin got up to leave.

“You’re not driving back tonight, are you?” Gus asked. It was almost ten at night.

“No, my days of chasing wayward boys to and from New York City are over,” Brian replied giving Justin a look.

Justin smiled sheepishly. “You never have to chase me,” Justin stated. “I’m all yours.”

Brian pulled Justin against him and kissed his cheek. “We have a hotel booked. We’ll pop over in the morning before we head back to Pittsburgh. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Brian called over his shoulder as he headed for the door.

“That gives us lots of leeway,” Gus laughed.

Brian turned and stuck his tongue out at his son. “Behave yourself, Sonny Boy,” he cautioned as he opened the door.

“I’ll be just as good as you,” Gus replied with a wicked grin. “Thanks, Pop, Justin, this meant a lot having you here today.” There were hugs all around, and then Gus and Ray were alone in their new home.

“That was a great day,” Ray said. “I was dreading getting this place set up by ourselves.”

“Hm,” Gus responded, “I was thinking the couch should be over there, and the computer desk across there and…”

“Shut up!” Ray ordered before he pulled Gus into a toe curler of a kiss.

“Whew!” Gus said when he was finally released. The grin on his face showed complete happiness. “I was just kidding about moving the furniture. I think everything’s just perfect in our new home, but we really should test out our bed. Make sure it’s properly put together and up to our demanding standards.”

“Yes, demanding,” Ray agreed. Taking Gus’ hand he led him into the bedroom where they quickly undressed each other. Kisses and caresses led to intense arousal.

“I want you so much,” Gus whispered as they slid onto the bed. “This will be our first time in our home.”

“Yes it will, the first of many, many, many…”

Ray never finished that sentence as Gus’ lips found his. Tongues jabbed and probed, trying to reach deep inside each other. Arms and legs entwined, touching caressing, feeling … so much. Hard cocks rubbed together, teeth nipped and fingers squeezed.

“I want you inside me,” Ray groaned as Gus pressed him into the bed.

“That’s the only place I want to be,” Gus replied, feeling slightly stunned by the intensity of his emotions. “I love you so much.”

“No more than I love you,” Ray replied as his legs came up around Gus’ back.

Gus slipped on a condom, and slowly entered Ray looking into the beautiful dark eyes all the while. They rocked together felling every nerve and synapse in tune. The orgasms came too soon and with such intensity that it left both of them shaken.

After a couple of minutes of gasping for air, Gus turned his head to look at his lover. “That was some first time.”

“Yes it was. But as I said, there will be many more to come.”

“And lots of surfaces in this place to christen,” Gus replied with a grin bordering on wicked.

“You sound a lot like your father,” Ray said with a smile.

“I hope I’m half the man he is,” Gus said seriously.

“You’re every bit the man your father is. You’re a wonderful man,” Ray declared.

“I am a man, aren’t I?” Gus said thoughtfully.

“Um, I think you just proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt,” Ray laughed.

“Thanks, that means a lot to hear you say that.”

“I mean every word. I love you.”

“We’re going to be good, aren’t we?” Gus asked with a happy smile.

“Most definitely. We’re greaaaaaaat!”

“Now you sound like my Pop,” Gus laughed. “I think he’d be proud.”

“I bet he would. Let’s go find another one of the surfaces in our house to christen,” Ray suggested. “God, I love saying our house.”

“I do to. Do you think we can be as happy as my dad and Justin?”

“At least half as happy.”

“Not good enough,” Gus declared. “I want to be at least as happy as them, maybe more.”

“You have very high standards, young man.”

“Yes, I do, and you meet all of them.”

“We can be as happy as we want, Gus. It’s all up to us.”

“And we can ask your dad and Justin for help if we need it, or my dads too,” Ray added. Gus nodded. “But right now we need to put some of those un-christened surfaces of our house to the test.”

“Definitely,” Gus agreed. This living together was going to be so great.
