True Intentions
Chapter 1

Sookie Stackhouse sat on the edge of her bed, wondering just when it was she'd fallen in love with the Sheriff of Area 5. Her mind raced, her heart pounded in her chest and she sighed deeply. This just couldn't be happening to her she thought over and over. She was engaged to Bill Compton, best known as Vampire Bill around Bon Temps and she loved him with all of her heart.

But, Eric Northman seemed to fill her dreams, her thoughts, and her fantasies. She couldn't escape him. Standing, the pretty blonde telepath paced the room trying to remove the tall Viking Vampire from her thoughts.

Her mind flashed back to the previous night and the kiss that had shaken her to her very core. She could still feel the iciness of his pale skin beneath her fingertips. The way he kissed her was so different than the way Bill did. Eric's kiss was primal and animalistic in nature. There was nothing soft about this vampire. His touch was not loving. Eric Northman was all sex and blood wrapped up into the sexiest package imaginable.

Shaking her head, Sookie reprimanded herself. “Get it together Sookie, this can't happen. You're engaged to Bill and you love him.” She spoke aloud to herself not really caring if her roommate and best friend Tara Thornton heard. Sookie was way past caring what others thought about her involvement with vampires.

She'd grown up the misfit child in town because of her disability. Sookie discovered at an early age that she could hear the thoughts of those around her and soon learned that everyone considered her a freak. She'd given up trying to be something she wasn't at a very young age and kept to herself with the exception of Tara and Jason.

Now she listened in the silence to see if she could pick up the noise from Tara's brain in the house and frowned when she only found silence. It was still early and Tara obviously hadn't come home last night. Thankfully it was past dawn, so Sookie knew there were no vampires in her home. Vampires were the one being she couldn't hear. Their thoughts showed up as blank spaces in time. She could sense them, but only on occasion could she pick up a stray thought, and she sure wasn't going to let any of them know that she could hear even that.

Sookie kept as much secret from the vampires as she could. They already knew far too much about her disability and life. She pushed the thought from her mind and crossed to the dresser, pulling out her favorite white bikini. Stripping and putting it on along with some sunscreen, she headed out into the morning sun to try to enjoy her day off.

Two hours later her mind wandered back to Eric. They'd been at Fangtasia, arguing as usual, when he just reached out and pinned her to him, kissing her with more passion than she'd ever felt before. She hadn't struggled or fought him off. In truth she wanted him. She wanted to know what he looked like beneath his clothes, to feel his fangs on her inner thigh. She shivered despite the 98 degree Louisiana day. She could almost feel his hands on her hips as he slid her down on his manhood. Her body responding to his every need, his fingers brushing against her nipples as he caressed her.

She thanked God above that she lived so far off the road as she ran a hand into the bottoms of her bikini. Finding herself wet and throbbing with need, she began to stroke herself.

Eric's eyes popped open inside his light tight, and the smirk quickly formed as he felt her desire. He'd felt it before but always in combination with Bill. He growled loudly at the thought and turned his focus back to Sookie. He could feel the heat building through her body, he could almost smell the sun on her skin and cursed himself for not strengthening the bond they shared. He wanted to feel her release, her every emotion. Eric Northman wanted to know every single detail about this human that he couldn't get out of his system.

It wasn't that he had a right to feel these things, but Eric never relied on rights. He took what he wanted and he wanted Sookie Stackhouse. Never mind that she was bonded to Bill Compton, that really didn't matter to the Sheriff. No one denied Eric when he really wanted something. Sooner or later he knew that Sookie would give in.

He could almost feel her warm, soft body beneath him. Her kisses warmed him, her blood called to him. He had no explanation for what was happening between them. All he knew was he wanted that human more than he'd wanted anyone in over a thousand years. She would be his. And soon.
