I Want You to Know

Part 59

"Brian I'm sorry about bothering you here but this just couldn't wait."

I watched the kid as he shuffled through some papers in his briefcase. He was tall like me and reminded me of myself at a much younger age. I could see why Sascha was attracted to him, but that didn't change the fact that he was much too old for her. Instead of listening to what he was saying I was casually checking him out.

Dylan was beautiful. He had dark auburn hair, dark green eyes and a body to die for. You could tell he worked out regularly and if I thought for just a second he was gay I would've been tempted to taste him myself. My daughter had good taste, not that I'd ever consider letting this man anywhere near my little girl. He had that look in his eye like he knew exactly what he wanted and just how to get it. Like I said he reminded me of myself.

"Brian?" Dylan interrupted my thoughts and I had to shake my head to clear it. "Where were you just then?"

"I'm sorry Dylan, I was just thinking about Sascha. I didn't catch anything you just said."

"No kidding," he laughed. "I said that we have a major problem in Tokyo. Sony wants you there now. I tried to explain to them that it wasn't possible with your daughter's illness but they still demand that you fly in immediately."

"That is not going to happen, Dylan. Who is most capable to go after me?"

"That would be me, Brian."

"Well that isn't going to work either. I need you here to tend to the daily business of the new agency. Shit, I can't send Ron or Jim. They have no clue how to handle the bigwigs at headquarters."

"So what do you want me to tell them?" Dylan stared at me with a worried look on his face.

"Tell them I'll be on the first flight out tomorrow afternoon." He nodded and I could see that he was glad the crisis was averted. "And Dylan, tell Cynthia to pack her bags. I'll call her with the details tonight."

"Will do boss," he said with a salute.

"Now why don't you tell me just what it is you want from my little girl."

"Daddy, what do you think of Dylan?" Sascha stared at me with hope in her eyes.

"I think he's a little too old for you, little girl."

"But dad is twelve years older than you. Dylan is only six years older than me."

"Shit I forgot you can do math. I think he's nice, Sascha but right now you need to focus on getting healthy."

"Dad, in case you forgot, that's what I've been doing for the last month. I may be sick, but I'm not dead. He's gorgeous and he seemed to like me."

I smiled at her and laughed at her gushing over this man. "And why shouldn't he? You are beautiful Sascha. Just don't get your hopes up that something is going to happen between you two. You know how your father feels about you girls and dating older men."

"Well you'll just have to work that magic of yours and make him not so surly."

"I'm good but not that good kiddo."

"She's a beautiful girl, Brian."

"Yes she is and she's young too."

"She's not that young."

"Well let me say it this way, she's too young for you, Dylan."

"Brian, I don't want to do anything to ruin our business relationship or our friendship but you can't tell me who I can and can't be interested in outside of work."

"When it comes to my daughter I can. I don't want her hurt. She's going through something very hard right now and she needs to focus on getting well."

"I don't want to hurt her, Brian. I just want the chance to know her. That short time I spent with her was better than most dates I've had. She's smart and funny, not to mention drop dead gorgeous."

"If you hurt her, I'll kill you. Then I'll fire you."

"Deal."

Later that evening Justin and I lay in bed after making love and I thought about how I had to tell him I had to fly to Japan the next afternoon. I stroked his hair and breathed in the scent of him while trying to find a way to bring up the subject. I knew he was going to be pissed but I had no choice.

"Brian, what’s the matter?"

He startled me and I jumped causing his head to fall off my chest and onto the bed. "Sorry, baby."

"Scare you?"

"A little. I'm sorry. I was just thinking."

"About?"

"Sony."

"Is that what Dylan wanted today? Is something wrong?"

"Sort of. I have to go to Japan tomorrow."

"WHAT?!? You can't just fly across the world right now."

"I have no choice. Dylan is needed here to handle the day to day details of the agency and no one else is qualified to go."

"Send Ron or Jim."

"They can't handle it Justin. I have to go. I won't be gone long, just a few days at the most. I'll check in often and I'll always be available."

"Brian." He turned away from me and I could tell he was upset.

"Justin, I don't want to go, but I have no choice. Sony is my biggest client and they've been good to us."

"I know but I still don't like it."

"I know," I said as I kissed him. We were starting to get going again when I heard Gus slam his door across the hall. Justin looked up at me and we exchanged knowing glances. "Guess I should go fill him in."

"Be gentle."

I was pulling my shirt over my head when I heard the light rapping on the door. "Come in," I called out. Dad pushed the door open slowly. He crossed the room and sat on the overstuffed chair in the corner of the room.

"We need to talk sonny boy."

"Look dad, I'm sorry about the other night. I was out of line and...", I was interrupted.

"This isn't about that. That's over, leave it in the past. This is about you and Michael."

"Fuck," I muttered under my breath, sitting down on the edge of the bed. I tried to prepare myself for his anger and was surprised to find him smiling at me when I looked back up.

"Don't look so scared sonny boy. Justin talked to Michael and straightened things out. Seems you didn't really sleep with him."

"What are you talking about Dad. I woke up in his bed, in his boxers. How could I not have slept with him?"

"Well according to Michael, all that happened was that he took you home and put you to bed. He apparently slept on the couch."

"So who did I get the blowjob from?"

"Must've been the trick you pushed away to go home with Michael. Now let's talk about what you made me do, Gus."

"Dad, you weren't supposed to hear that about Michael and I."

"Doesn't change the fact that I did. Next time you better make sure you know exactly what the fuck happened before you go running off at the mouth. I could've killed my best friend and for nothing. Hell Gus, why were you so damn drunk that you couldn't remember who you fucked?"

"I was pissed Dad. You've done the same thing. I'm not a kid and you can't tell me how to live my life."

"I'm your father sonny boy. I can tell you whatever I want."

"That doesn't mean I have to listen," I said brushing past him and slamming the door on my way out.
