I Want You to Know
Part 56

I stood dumbfounded in the doorway of Sascha's room, not quite sure that I had heard my son correctly. I must be losing my hearing or hallucinating or something because there is no way in HELL that my son fucked Michael. Not my best friend. And certainly not with my son. In an instant I turned and flew down the hall.
I was on a mission and the only thing I needed was to find my so called best
friend and wrap my hands around his neck. I took the stairs not having
the patience to wait for the elevator. Skipping several stairs at a time
I almost fell, only catching my balance at the last minute. I pushed through
the door to the garage and ran for my 'vette.
Gunning the engine I tore out of there like a bat out of hell. I took the
corners so fast that I thought I would lose control. I ran every light that
dared to change to red on me, not caring about anything but finding Michael
so I could kill him. Finally reaching the comic book store, I pulled up in
front and slammed the car into gear, pulling the parking brake.

"Fuck, he wasn't supposed to hear that," Gus ran an anxious hand through
his hair, turning to face his sister.
"Too late, brother dear," Sascha said with a roll of her eyes.
"Fuck, what do you think he's going to do?"
"Knowing Dad and his temper, KILL HIM."
"Sascha, that's not funny."
"Who's trying to be funny?" Sascha reached for the phone and handed it to
Gus. "Maybe you should call Daddy."
"Good idea," Gus said taking the phone as his sister dialed her father's
cell. When Justin's voice mail picked up, Gus swore under his breath as he
waited for the beep. "Justin, it's Gus. You need to go find Dad. I'm afraid
he's going to do something stupid. He went looking for Michael. I can't go
into detail but lets just say that Michael may not make it out alive. Call
me on my cell as soon as you get this message, 510-657-8857."
Gus handed the phone back to his sister and headed for the door, "I have
to stop him from doing something stupid, Sis. Will you be ok
alone?"
"I'll be fine. I'll call Sara or Debbie to come by. Just go find him and
Gus, good luck."
"Thanks, Sasch, I'll call you as soon as I find him." Blowing her a kiss
Gus ran down the hall, letting the door slam behind him.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Justin was in a meeting with some backers when his cell rang and he saw Gus's
number flash back up for the third time this hour. Excusing himself he took
the call outside the restaurant.
"What's the matter Gus?"
"Have you seen Dad at all Justin?"
"No, I'm in a meeting with some backers for the gallery. I don't expect to
see him until dinner. What's going on? Is something wrong?"
"Ummm you could say that. I really don't have time for details but he's gunning
for Michael and it isn't going to be pretty if he finds him."
"Shit, Gus, I need to know what happened and just how mad Brian was when
he found out." Justin paced back and forth outside the window of the restaurant
he was at and waited to hear just what it was that Michael had done this
time.
"He overheard me telling Sascha that I think I might have slept with
Michael."
"What?!? FUCK, Gus, you better find him. Try the comic book store first.
If they aren't there try Michael's apartment or the diner."
"I've been by the diner and the apartment, they aren't there and no one has
seen either of them all day. I'm on my way to the store now. Can you meet
me there?"
"Give me twenty minutes, I have to wrap this meeting up."
"Great, thanks Justin."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I tore into the comic book store looking for Michael. I found him sitting
in the back reading an old X-Men issue. Ripping it out of his hands,
I wrapped my hands around his neck and began to squeeze. My mind screamed
against what I was doing but I couldn't stop myself. I tightened my hands
and watched his face turn red as he gasped for air.
His hands were clawing at mine trying to get me to loosen my grip. I wasn't
giving him any chance to get away with what he did to my son.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I was sitting having lunch when Brian came running into the store. I turned
to face him with a smile, thinking something must've happened with Sascha.
I never expected what happened next. He reached out and grabbed me by the
neck, lifting me off the floor until I just dangled there in his grasp. His
eyes shot daggers of hate at me and I wondered what the hell had gotten into
him.
The only other time Brian had physically attacked me was when I told him
he should've left Justin for dead. This time I had no clue what brought this
on. I kicked my feet trying my damnedest to get down. He held on tighter
and pushed me back against the wall muttering something about me disgusting
him.
Just before I blacked out, I saw Gus run into the room. I could hear him
shouting at Brian right before I lost consciousness.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Dad, stop it, you're going to kill him!"
"Get out of here Gus. I'm taking care of this scum."
"Dad, stop it, he didn't do anything I didn't want him to do." Gus was begging
his father and pulling at his hands trying desperately to get him to let
go of Michael.
"That doesn't matter. I'm going to kill him for what he did."
Gus heard the bell over the door and turned to find Justin walking in. He
ran to Justin and pulled him to the back of the store. Justin looked at Michael,
his back against the wall, head hanging to the side and Brian's hands around
his neck. He put his hand on Brian's back, which caused Brian to turn quickly
to see who dared touch him.
"Brian, honey, let him go." Justin's voice was barely a whisper and his gaze
never left his partner's.
Brian shot his lover an angry look. Justin took a tentative step forward
and held out a hand to Brian. Brian looked between Michael and Justin and
slowly let Michael's limp body fall to the floor. Brian took Justin's hand
and let himself be led out of the room. Once outside Justin sat Brian down
behind the counter and picked up the phone dialing 911. After telling the
dispatcher what had happened, leaving out that Brian was the attacker, he
hung up the phone and went back to Gus.
"Gus, listen to me, the paramedics are on the way. I am going to get Brian
out of here and calm him down. When they get here tell them you don't know
what happened that you found him this way and called 911. Don't leave him
and don't let him say anything until I can figure this out."
"No problem, Justin." Gus watched Justin head back towards the front and
called out, "thanks Justin."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I pulled the 'Vette out of the parking spot and squealed tires as I took
off. I glanced over at my partner every so often, trying to figure out why
he had reacted the way he did. I stopped at a red light and tried to
talk to him.
"Brian, baby, talk to me, please. Just say anything."
I was met with silence and an icy stare. I had never seen him so angry or
hurt before. I had to fix this before it killed one of them. I drove as fast
as I could home. I stopped just inches from the garage door and ran around
to help Brian out. I pulled him to the front door and pushed him inside.
I helped him out of his coat and pushed him onto the couch, removing
his boots.
Brian hadn't spoken since I walked into the store and I was starting to worry.
He was so angry and it was eating him up inside.
"Brian, you have to talk to me," I begged.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I was still sitting beside his bed when he woke up hours later. The doctors
had said he would be fine, that he had passed out from lack of oxygen. They
wanted to keep him overnight for observation and I had decided to stay with
him just to make sure he didn't die.
"Michael, how're you feeling?", I asked cautiously.
He coughed, then whispered to me as he looked around the room. "Where's
Brian?"
"Justin took him home."
"Sunshine to the rescue as always." Michael coughed again and I handed him
a glass of water, which he drank in one big gulp. "What the hell got into
him Gus?"
"He overheard me talking to Sascha about last night."
"And why the fuck did he come after me?"
"Because of what happened." I watched as a confused look crossed his face
as he stared at me.
"What happened? What are you talking about Gus? I did the same thing for
you that I did for him for years. Why should that bother him?"
"Michael, I know that we slept together."
His reply was interrupted by Debbie's arrival. I used her as my chance to
escape and go home to check on my father.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I had given Brian a double Beam and put him to bed. He had fallen asleep
instantly. I was sitting downstairs on the couch trying to figure out how
the hell all of this had happened when Gus came in. He joined me on the couch
and poured himself a drink from the bottle on the coffee table.
"I'm sorry, Justin."
"It's not your fault, Gus."
"Yeah it is. If I hadn't slept with Michael this would never have
happened."
"It takes two to have sex, Gus, you know that. Even though it wasn't appropriate
for Michael to take advantage of you it still doesn't give Brian the right
to attack him. Sometimes your father's temper just gets the best of
him."
"Which is why I didn't want to tell him. I wish I could take it all back,
Justin."
"I know you do, baby," I said as I let the young man cry on my shoulder.
After a few minutes I pushed him up and dried his eyes. "Gus, you have to
help me fix this. We can't let this ruin Brian's relationship with either
you or Michael."
"I'll do whatever I can." He kissed my cheek and went upstairs to try to
talk to his father. I had just poured myself another drink when he came running
back downstairs.
"HE'S GONE."
