I Want You to Know
Part 27
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Mr. Taylor-Kinney, can you tell us what happened on the night of August 24?"
"Yes, I was in
"The girls, Mr. Taylor-Kinney?" Christine was
good at what she did and knew that the jury should know about the
kids.
"Yes, Justin and I have 5 little
girls."
"Ah that must be rough."
"Yes it's hard at times, but we
manage."
"Now if you could continue with what happened
that night please."
"Sure, when Emmett didn't call me back after
an hour I decided to fly home and borrowed the company jet to do
so."
"And just why was it you were so anxious to
get home?"
"Well, Joshua Sax had been released from jail
the previous week and had contacted our daughter
"I believe the court has on file a record of
the restraining order against Mr. Sax. Now Mr. Taylor-Kinney, in what
way did he have contact with your three year old,
"He gave her a small toy frog, and told her
teachers at school that he was her uncle. He also spoke with another of my
daughters, Sara."
"And did your daughters tell you what he said
to them?"
"Yes, Sara said he told her that he was a friend
of Justin's."
"Were the girls hurt?"
"No."
"So back to the night in question,
what happened when you got home?"
I sat back in my seat and closed my eyes reliving
that night over again. My voice cracked with emotion as I spoke. "I saw Justin's
van and Emmett's car in the drive and went inside. The house was deathly
quiet and I knew something was wrong. I have 5 small
children, my house is never ever silent. I quietly
went up the stairs and checked the girls' rooms. When they were empty I went
looking for Justin. I stopped at our bedroom, and heard Joshua talking to
him through the door. I slipped in unnoticed and when I had the chance, I
got the girls out of the room with Emmett's help."
"And where was Joshua during all of
this?"
"He was in the sitting room that is adjacent
to our bedroom."
"Was he alone?"
"No Justin was with him."
"I see. Please continue."
"Joshua saw Emmett carrying
"Thank you Mr. Taylor-Kinney, no further
questions."
I sat in my seat waiting for the cross examination
to begin. Mr. Tyler stood and walked up to me, "how is your daughter doing
now, Mr. Kinney?"
"
"Mr. Kinney I'm sure you're aware that
"Yes, I know that but they do recognize when
a name has been legally changed."
"Yes they do. Can you tell me just what it was
you heard your partner saying to Mr. Sax?"
"He was begging him to let our children
go."
"Isn't it true Mr. Kinney that your partner
offered to sleep with Mr. Sax in exchange for letting his children
go?"
"Justin was doing what he had to do to keep
OUR children safe."
"But isn't it also true Mr. Kinney that your
partner was giving Mr. Sax oral sex when you were getting your children out
of the room?"
"He was forced to do that."
"Isn't it also true that Mr. Taylor had sexual
intercourse with Mr. Sax the night
before."
Christine was objecting to the line of questioning
when I looked up to see Justin's face, the terrified look sent me over the
edge. I was on my feet, jumping over the railing, knocking the prosecuting
attorney to the ground. I pounded on his face as I yelled at
him.
"Justin was forced to be with him. That fucking
asshole took advantage of my partner. He deserved to die for what he did
to him and for making my children go through this."
Two baliffs pulled
me off of him and cuffed me, escorting me out of the courtroom until things
were back in order; then I was led back in to face the judge. Judge Sullivan
spoke sternly, "Mr. Taylor-Kinney, I should revoke your bond right this second
and put you back in jail. The only thing stopping me is the fact that, you
Mr. Tyler deserved what you got. I will not tolerate this line of questioning
or your outbursts again. Do you understand me?"
As we both answered, the trial was recessed
for the day and we went home.
Justin lay on the bed, sleeping, as I longed
to hold him. I knew that he needed his space but I also knew that I needed
him. I sat on the edge of the bed and gathered him in my arms, kissing him
gently on the cheek. He even flinched in his sleep and I held onto him tighter.
I had to find a way to save him.

The trial had been underway for two full days when Emmett
was called to the stand. After being sworn in, Christine began her questioning
of him.
"Hi Mr.
Honeycutt."
"Hey
there honey."
"Mr. Honeycutt, I understand that you were in
the room when Mr. Taylor-Kinney and Mr. Sax had their altercation. Can you
tell us in your own words what happened that
night."
"Well there I was on the floor with Justin holding
one of those sweet babies, when that scumbag, started telling Justin he would
kill us all before he let the girls go. Justin just kept begging him to let
the babies go, he offered to do whatever Josh wanted."
"And what did Mr. Sax say to
that?"
"He told Justin that as long as he had him and
the girls Brian couldn't touch him."
"What did he mean by that?"
Mr. Tyler stood, "Objection,
speculation."
Judge Sullivan overruled and allowed the
questioning. Emmett smiled to himself for the small
victory.
"Well, he was sort of pissed that Justin stayed
with Brian and had the commitment ceremony. Then even after the ceremony
he still tried to get Justin away
from Brian, even taking advantage of Sunshine
when he was drunk. Then after he shot Melanie and Justin, Justin put the
restraining order on him."
"Can you tell us about that shooting Mr.
Honeycutt."
"Of course I can. Justin was working the graveyard
shift and Melanie was there having a cup of coffee as she went over a case
she was working on when the little
asshole came in with a gun and shot them both."
"What happened to Ms. Marcus as a result of
that shooting?"
"She died, God rest her
soul."
"What about Mr. Taylor?"
"Well Justin and Brian got back together because
of that shooting. And Joshua went to jail."

I tuned out Emmett's testimony and thought about
Justin and the kids. They were all having a hard time with all the publicity
the trial was receiving Justin had started to stay home most days unless
he was needed in court. I missed him when he wasn't there and today was one
of those days. I thought about how I wanted to be home with him, holding
him, making love to him. Hopefully this trial wouldn't last much longer and
we could get on with our lives. After Emmett's testimony Christine
gave her closing statement and the jury was sent out to deliberate my
fate.
At the end of the day I went home to find Justin
sitting in the kitchen with a shy smile on his face. Kissing him hello, I
looked around for the girls.
"Hey Sunshine, where are the
girls?"
"They're with my mom, and they're spending the
night."
"What are you up to?"
"Nothing.
Just a little quiet time for
us."
"Well now that sounds like my kind of night. Something smells good,
what is it?"
"Your favorite, fresh
salmon."
"What no kid food tonight?"
"Nope just us
baby."
I pulled him close and kissed him, softly at
first. He deepened the kiss pulling me closer as he ran his hands through
my hair. I held onto him as if letting go would make him disappear. It had
been so long since we had been together and I wasn't sure he was ready for
this. His body pressed against mine felt like heaven, as I moaned loudly,
my cock tightened inside my trousers. He pulled my shirt over my head, his
skin touching mine, as I shivered with excitement. He was about to unzip
my pants when the phone rang. Grabbing it I hit the on button to hear, "Brian
the jury's back. We have to be in court in a half an
hour."
