The Visit

Chapter 2

“Why the fuck is Mason coming to town?”

Reid pinched the bridge of his nose.  “Why does this guy cause every mild-mannered gay in Oakdale to hurl foul-mouthed phrases into the stratosphere?”

“I told you what he did to Noah and me.  Noah told us both about what a shit he was to him in L.A.  I think both Noah and my reactions are proportionate to the underhanded sleaziness of that creep.”

“You definitely have a way with descriptives, Luke.  I’m surprised you ever doubted your ability to write.”  Reid grinned.

Luke tilted his head.  “Reid, this is serious.  Mason doesn’t do anything in the name of friendship or support of another without there being something in it for himself.”

“Isn’t that Noah’s issue, and maybe Mark’s, if Noah can’t handle Mason on his own?  I don’t see why you’re so worked up.  You didn’t have the hots for Mason too, did you?”  Reid raised an eyebrow, watching Luke’s reaction closely.

“No way!”  Luke shook his head so vigorously Reid was close to worrying about whiplash.  “But I’m worked up because the last time I had any real interaction with him, Mason was threatening to steal my boyfriend the minute they were no longer professor and student.”

“Instead, it was me who stole Noah’s boyfriend.”  Reid tried to lighten the mood but from the look on Luke’s face his joke fell flat.

“Noah and I had been broken up for a while before you even kissed me.  At the time Mason started making his moves, Noah and I were very much together.  Mason was the beginning of the end for us, as you well know.”

“You mean the final end.  From what you’ve told me, you and Noah made a habit of intense separations and break-ups throughout your unhealthy relationship.  Mason wouldn’t have been able to work his way into Noah’s life if you and the boy filmmaker had been on solid ground.”

Luke turned away.  Reid wasn’t sure if he had gone too far, but he felt it was important to point out the reality of what had happened before Mason made his unwelcome appearance.  The guy was a shit; Reid had no doubt about that, but Luke was giving him more power than he truly deserved.

“Noah and I had a very immature relationship; we were both kids.  I don’t regret our ultimate break-up, but Mason added an unhealthy component to all our lives and began the chain of events that nearly destroyed Noah’s vision.”

“We all know it might have been a permanent condition had it not been for an amazing, one-of-a-kind surgeon who was able to repair the damage.”

Luke chuckled.  “You were brilliant then, and you’re more brilliant now.”  He wrapped his arms around Reid’s shoulders.  “I do love you, despite your penchant for sarcasm and extreme modesty.”  Luke ran his tongue over his lips.  It was all Reid could do to remember to listen to the words coming from the seductive mouth.

“Good to know.”  Reid smiled as he rested his forehead against Luke’s.

“No one else would let me rant and rave about an asshole who was the final straw in an unhealthy relationship with a guy who punched him when he thought he’d stolen his property.”

Reid pressed his lips to Luke’s.  “I’m just glad the impact of that punch ultimately worked to our advantage.  Just for the record, you were never anyone’s property.  You may have had a few justified insecurities enabling your boyfriend to take charge, but you have always been your own man.”  The two kissed once again.  Reid opened his mouth, inviting Luke inside, wanting to get even closer.

His voice a bit huskier, Luke took a small step back and continued to speak.  “I’m going to have to talk to Noah about Mason’s visit.  He’ll need a friend who understands and remembers his past with the guy.”

“You do what you have to.  I’ll only protest if it means I’m changing more diapers than I normally am willing to deal with.”

Luke huffed.  “It’s good to know you have your priorities straight.”

“Always.”  Reid kissed Luke again, rubbing his thumb gently over his spouse’s soft cheek.

“Noah needs to make sure he has his own priorities in order.  I’d hate him to screw things up with Mark because of this visit.”

“Mark isn’t too happy about the return of the notorious professor.  I actually think you may be a good sounding board for the wayward producer.  He and Mark have been trying to stay upbeat and positive after the miscarriage and this could cause an unnecessary spiral into unfortunate reactions.”

“I love it when you sound so clinical about caring for, and helping, our friends and family.”

“Luke.”

As he tenderly caressed Reid’s cheek, Luke looked into his eyes.  “Yes, Reid.”

“Even though I don’t always share my feelings, I want to make sure you know I love you.  Nothing, and no one, could ever change that.”  Reid felt a rush of his own vulnerability, from years gone by, sweep through his mind.

“I do know.  It’s the same for me.”

The two shared a deeper kiss.  It slowly grew more passionate as the familiar heat built and the urgency of their kisses increased.

Reid opened his mouth again, once more inviting Luke inside.  They began to walk awkwardly toward their bedroom door, kissing as they moved.

Entering the master bedroom, Reid unbuttoned Luke’s shirt, their lips never breaking contact.

Stepping back for a moment, both men breathing heavily, Luke unbuttoned Reid’s shirt, sweeping it off his shoulders and arms in one smooth motion.  “Reid, you’re so beautiful.”

“So are you.”

Checking that the bedroom door was locked, both men quickly stripped off their clothes and were soon lying, naked, on their bed.

“Reid.” Luke spoke between kisses. ”Ethan’s home.”

“We’ll be quiet.  Besides, I’m sure this will be pretty damn quick, I’ve wanted you all day.”

“Sorry about this morning.  The twins wouldn’t cooperate.”

“They are now.  Let’s make the most of it.”

It didn’t take much to convince Luke.  Grabbing the lube from his night table drawer, Reid moistened his fingers.  Both men were hard.  Reid spotted a bead of pre-come on the tip of Luke’s cock.  He bent down to lick it off.

“Oh God, Reid.  Please.  Can’t wait.”

Reid couldn’t wait either.  Luke arched his back as Reid hastily pushed two fingers inside his husband.

“Now, Reid!”

“Okay.”  Reid could feel Luke’s need mirrored by his own, but he didn’t want to hurt him.  “Are you ready?”

Luke nodded, wrapping his legs around Reid’s back, drawing him closer.

Needing no further encouragement, Reid pressed his cock against Luke’s pulsing hole.  “So tight.”

“Just for you, only ever for you.”

Finding his way into the familiar heat, Reid began to slowly thrust.  When he changed his angle slightly, Luke arched his back again.  Grabbing at Reid’s shoulders, Luke drew him closer.  Their kisses were hungry.  Neither man could get enough.

“Ahhh, Reid.  Won’t last.”

“Me neither.  Let go, Luke.”

Wrapping his arms around Reid, Luke buried his head in the crook of Reid’s neck as his release spilled between them.  Feeling Luke tightening around him, Reid let himself go, filling Luke, making him his own once more, as he had so many times throughout their life together.

Still panting, Luke and Reid embraced.  Reid could feel Luke’s smile against his neck.  “That was amazing, Reid.  Thank you.”

“You never have to thank me for loving you.  You were pretty hot and incredible yourself.”

Luke chuckled.  “I wish we could just stay here all night.”

“Me too.”

Their brief moment holding each other was interrupted by a loud wail piercing the air.

“Damn!”  Reid couldn’t believe the timing.

“Ditto.  She’s been screaming on and off all day.  It’s the new tooth.  I can feel it on the edge of her gums, but it hasn’t broken through.  I was actually tempted to use Grandma Emma’s whiskey trick to numb her gums and get her to relax.”

“Sometimes old tricks have multiple values.”

“Reid.”  Luke’s eyes widened.

“I know, I know.  I’ll pull on a pair of sweats and get the tube of Oral-gel, you get the rugrat.”

As Reid reluctantly broke away from Luke, and the two cleaned up as best they could in less than two minutes, he heard a familiar voice yelling through the house.  “Dad, one of the babies is crying.  Shut him or her up.  We’re doing our homework and that noise is a pain!”

We’re doing our homework...  Who was with Ethan, and why couldn’t he help with his sister?  Foolish thought -- teenager.
