Five Years

“I can’t believe it’s been five years.”

“It could have been me.”

“I wouldn’t let that happen, even if you were behaving like an asshole at the time.”

“Me, an asshole, never.”

“How do you think Deb is doing? The thought of commemorating this anniversary at the cemetery is kind of creepy.”

“I have no idea what possessed her.”

“Michael said she wanted to be in Vic’s presence when she gave him his long overdue tribute.”

“That’s right; she didn’t say anything at the funeral, did she.”

“Remember their fight right before he died.”

“Remember our fight right after you got back from Ibiza.”

“I’m trying to forget that but you won’t let me.”

“It’s almost your five year anniversary, too.”

“I know.”

“Here comes Deb.”

“Now maybe we’ll find out why she wanted us here to remember Vic at midnight.”

“Holy shit, can you believe that.”

“Sunshine, I can honestly say if I didn’t see it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it.”

“That’s a fucking amazing fireworks display.”

“With center sparklers reading, We love you, Vic.”

“She’s unfuckingbelievable!”

“That she is. I’m sure Vic saw this one.”

“How could he miss it?”

“I don’t think anyone in heaven or earth missed that.”

“After the doctor gets back to us with your test results maybe I should arrange a fireworks display for you.”

“Not necessary, I just shared Vic’s. Surprise, Sunshine!”

“Oh Brian – five years! WooHoo!!!”

“Tonight you’ll give me all the fireworks I need.”

“I love you Brian.”

“Me too, Justin.”

“I want you with me for a long time. I’m so glad you’re healthy.”

“I have it on good authority that I’ll be here for a fucking long time.”

“Who’s authority?”

“Just someone I used to know and respect.”

“I see.”

“I knew you would.”
