GUILT

“Justin’s been back for three months and nothing.”

“I don’t know what to do with that son of mine. All I ask is the pleasure of gaining a son-in-law.”

“It’s time we took matters into our own hands. I’m giving those two a piece of my mind.”

“Debbie, do you think that’s wise. Maybe it’ll make them procrastinate longer.”

“Do you want to see your son married in this lifetime?”

“Of course I do.”

“Then it’s time for the guilt.”

“Every mother’s ultimate weapon.”

“Okay, let’s go make sure they know where we stand.”

Buzzed in and then on to the loft.

“Hi Mom, Debbie. What are you doing here?”

“We want to know why you two refuse to take the plunge. You’ve been back for three fucking months.”

“And…”

“And it’s about time you made an honest man out of our Sunshine. Isn’t that right, Jen?”

“Okay.”

“What?”

Justin smirked, “He already has. We went to Provincetown last weekend.”

“Oh shit!”

“Debbie, they’re really married. I’m a mother-in-law!”

“Me too, twice!”

The two hugged as Brian smacked Justin’s ass, while Justin rubbed a finger over the ring that he’d waited two years to have Brian put on his finger.
