Dead Ted

"It's a nice day for a burial."

"Yes, it is, Teddy would've appreciated it."

"Sunshine, are you feeling a little guilty?"

"A little?! Try a lot of guilt. If it wasn't for me you may have found him in time."

"No guarantee that I was going back to the office."

"But you did mention it when you came home. I did everything I could to persuade you to stay home."

"It worked."

"But if you went back you might've found him in time."

"Look, Justin, It was a freak accident. Coulda happened to any of us. In a way I'm glad it was Ted."

"Brian! What are you saying?"

"Well as a loyal and hard working employee, he made an important discovery, one which I rectified immediately. And I was lucky that his Mother wasn't going to sue Kinnetic since I offered to foot the bill for the service. And it seems Mrs. Schmidt also has a head for figures. She wants to work for me, part time, to start, then who knows. She thinks it'll help her feel a closer to Ted. She really hasn't seen him since he was in the coma."

"How do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Turn a tragedy into your advantage?"

"It's a gift."

"So, you fixed the stairs."

"Yup and added handrails and they used that gritty paint for more traction. Oh and a light, photo and motion sensitive."

"Good, so no more headers down the front stairs of Kinnetic."

"Nope."

"It looks this is breaking up."

"Looks like it."

"So, you want to go home and finish what we started?"

"You mean when Theodore's untimely demise interrupted a marathon fuck session?"

"Yup."

"Lead the way, Sunshine."
