Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head...

******************************

Day 4 and counting. Rain had taken over the skies of Pittsburgh and there seemed to be no end in sight. The land of Liberty appeared to have become beach front property, with only the bravest of men or queen venturing out. Many of the merchants had to close down their shops, sandbags at their front doors in hopes of keeping their stores dry. The family had helped Michael move his inventory to ‘higher' ground for protection. Brian kept his precious ‘Vette' in a garage and rented a Jeep for the occasion. Work continued via phones, faxes, computers and video conferencing. Kinnetic was safe.

The record breaking deluge had turned out to be some what of a god send for Justin. He soon learned that his ‘queen of lean and mean' hated the rain. Brian went out only when necessary and since a lot of Brian's wheeling and dealing could be conducted via computer and phone, he found it necessary only once or twice.

Justin, a very smart little bottom boy, had been prepared for this current crisis. When he realized just how long the rain was predicted, he stocked up their refrigerator, freezer, cupboards, and wine rack with all of the finest essentials. The lovers could spend the entire flood in the loft safe, dry and without the need for take out. He wasn't sure if Brian was aware that there seemed to be a never ending supply of his favorite libations and delicacies. As Brian conducted his business, Justin would slip neat little finger sandwiches on his desk and the aroma of Brian's favorite brew gently wafted through the loft. It may have been miserable outside but the loft occupants were happy and content.

Justin took advantage of the week to sketch, paint and catch up on his reading. Brian hardly noticed Justin was there during the day. Justin was uncharacteristically quiet, maintaining an unspoken rule of keeping noise down to a bare minimum during "business hours." When Brian's Kinnetic day was done, Justin turned up the noise and the heat. They would dance, share a bottle of wine and even picnic on the futon cushions. Justin was very happy making lemonade out of the lemons Mother Nature had thrown in their path.

By day 6, both men were aching to go outside but the rain kept coming. Brian did notice that his sunny boy was beginning to lose it. Justin kept his end of the bargain by remaining quiet for the Kinnetic hours but as soon as Brian shut down his computer, Justin's black mood took over. He was cranky, began tossing his pencils at the window and even tore up a sketch or two supposedly angry at their poor quality. Brian needed to get back his Sunshine.

Handing the Jeep keys to Justin, Brian insisted that Justin go visit with his mother. Jennifer had few clients this week and kept close to home. Her condo was on higher ground so that Justin could safely drive there and back. Shooing the boy out, Brian made Justin promise to call him the moment he arrived at Jen's and when he was leaving to come home. Brian called Jennifer and she would keep Justin there for a few hours so that Brian would have the time to find the sun.

While Justin was truly an imaginative artist, Brian was just as creative. He didn't have the rep as the number ad man of Pittsburgh for nothing. Finding a sunlamp that he once used prior to his tanning salon days, in storage, Brian set it up in the corner near the window. Then he rearranged the cushions, placing several beach towels on them. Brian popped in one of his favorite cd's in the stereo. The sounds of waves crashing on the beach, seagulls calling and whales singing filled the loft. He then made up a tray of all of Justin's favorite snacks and placed it on the coffee table at the ready to feed his waterlogged boy. Last but not least, Brian began to massage his arms and chest with his favorite tanning oil. The subtle scent of coconut was enhanced by the heat emanating from the lamp; the oil accentuated Brian's taut muscles. The call from Justin came and Brian was ready.

Justin slid back the door and stepped in to the sight of his lover lounging on the beach towel, sipping a mimosa wearing the sexiest, tiniest deep burgundy thong Justin had ever scene. The oil made Brian's muscles shine and Brian could see the sunlight returning to Justin's eyes. Gesturing for Justin to join him, Justin shut the door then walked straight into Brian's waiting arms. The lovers kissed. Brian helped Justin out of his sodden clothes. He poured a little of the oil into his hands and gently massaged the week of gloom from Justin. Brian rearranged them on the cushions so that the force of the lamp could be enjoyed without damage to Justin's delicate skin. Sipping their mimosas and nibbling on the snacks, Justin relaxed into his lover's embrace. They spent the evening kissing, cuddling and making love on their ‘beach.'

Day 7 of the rain had dawned but Brian had his Sunshine back.
