Out of Character

"Brian?"

"What?"

"I'm hungry, can we go get something to eat?"

"When are you not hungry? Okay, but given our limited funds may I suggest the diner or perhaps pizza?"

"Okay, I guess. *sigh*"

As the lovers put on their shoes, grab jackets and keys, Brian notices Justin's obvious disappointment over dining choices.

"Or we could go someplace different. Someplace you'd might enjoy even better."

Later, after dinner, back at the loft.

"Thank you Brian, I had so much fun."

"Justin it was only dinner, but I'm glad you had fun. To tell you the truth, Sunshine, I thought we weren't going to make it out of there."

"Why?"

"Well, I saw the way you were looking at that thing in the corner. You had this sad far away look in your eyes."

"I guess I was remembering stuff when Molly and I were little. I remember being sad that I had to grow up cause it meant I couldn't go back in. I used love it when Mom brought me and Molly. When it was time to leave Molly would never come out, Mom couldn't get in it so I had to go and get her. Molly and I would have fun before I had to drag her out. I think I embarrassed my mother a couple of times."

"I can image, I thought I'd be dragging you out kicking and screaming. But you were a very well behaved little boy."

"Thanks Dad."

"Humph."

"I mean it Brian, thank you. I'd never thought Brian Kinney would ever be caught dead in a place like that, it was so out of character."

"And Brian Kinney will never be caught alive or dead in that place again, this was a one of, just for you, Sunshine."

Justin reaches up on his toes to give his big daddy a very appreciative kiss .

"Come on big guy, let me show you just how grateful I am."

"Lead on."

Justin leads his lover to the bedroom, leaving his happy meal bag on the counter.
