Eat It Too

Emmett lagged behind as Drew looked over his shoulder before opening the hotel room door. Emmett expected to have to take a walk around the parking lot first, so no one saw them go in together, but Drew held the door open for him and ushered him in. Surprised, Emmett’s grin grew even bigger when Drew wrapped his arm around Emmett’s shoulder and kissed his neck as he squeezed by.

The door shut behind them and Drew was still holding on, the styrofoam container he carried from the restaurant swaying under Emmett’s nose.

“Ready for dessert?” Drew offered huskily. “Then we’ll work off those calories.”

Emmett’s grin grew even more and he nodded. So it wasn’t exactly the work-out he’d imagined for the evening, none of their so-called date had been what he anticipated--except for this part of course--but Drew had tried, was trying. Maybe they just had to ease into things a bit more slowly. It would be a new approach for both of them considering how they’d started out. No, Emmett wouldn’t be greedy. He had his cake, so…

Emmett went to the bathroom and when he came out Drew was nude and stretched out on the bed. The television was on and Drew had the remote in one hand and a beer in the other. Emmett’s heart sank a little when he realized not so much had changed after all, until Drew looked at him and tossed the remote aside, whatever sports commentary he’d been listening to suddenly forgotten. “That was quick.” He took another long gulp of beer as his eyes grazed Emmett's naked form and then set the bottle aside too. “Come here.”

Emmett walked passed the television and turned it off with a sharp jab of his finger. He waited a beat for Drew to protest but the other man only reached for the cake on the nightstand. He held up a fork and looked at it pointedly for a moment before it too was discarded. Emmett’s eyebrows raised as Drew took his hand and pulled him down, settling Emmett across his lap with the styrofoam container balanced on his chest.

“Dig in.”

Emmett laughed nervously, wondering what Drew really would put up with. Emmett didn't exactly feel like eating the cake so much as devouring it off of every delicious inch—

Drew watched him, head cocked to the side curiously for a moment before he laughed too. “Anything you want, Sport. It’s your night.” He linked his hands behind his head in surrender. “Go for it.”

Emmett happily leaned forward then, almost kissing, but he suddenly pulled back and a finger swiped across Drew’s lip first, coating it with chocolate frosting.

Drew looked surprised for a second, and then his tongue appeared, licking a little of it away before Emmett swooped in and caught a slightly bitter beer-flavored tongue slick with sweet chocolate. Even when the frosting was gone, Drew held him there longer, almost making up for all the kisses Emmett had been denied before.

They crushed themselves closer together, the crunch of styrofoam crackling between their bodies before they remembered to move the cake aside—for later, Emmett thought.

Maybe he could eat it too.
