Funny How Things Work Out
Brian silently watched Justin dance from his place against the bar. This was Justin's welcome back party. His first night out after having recovered from the blow to the head that Chris Hobbs gave him at his senior prom. He smirked, watching David and Mikey sandwich the poor blonde between the two of them. Michael slipped an arm around the young man's slender waist, pulling him closer while David wrapped an arm around Justin's chest from behind, his fingers latching onto Mikey's shirt, pulling both he and Mikey closer to him. Brian went back to watching the other dancers on the floor as Justin wiggled away from Michael and David, making his way over to Brian and sitting beside him at the bar.
"Having fun, Justin?" Brian asked, turning to face the teen.
"Hell yes! Mikey and I are getting along a lot better now."
"That's good." He replied, sipping his drink.
With that said, Brian ruffled up Justin's hair and turned to the bar for another drink, eyes roaming over the bartender slowly as he watched him pour his drink. With a wink to the tender, he turned back to talk to Justin. When he turned back around, Justin was gone.

As Justin moved to the beat of the music, he thought he heard a voice call out to him. He looked around and didn't see anyone. Shrugging, he went back to dancing, but there it was again, someone calling him. Arching a brow, as he scanned the floor and saw a young boy about his age waving him over.
Warily, he walked over to the young boy.
"Hey there, Justin. How are ya?" the kid asked him.
Justin wondered who this kid was. "Do I know you?"
The kid grinned. "Yeah, we go to the same high school. Hey, let's go in the back and talk. I've always wanted to talk to you."
"I really shouldn't." Justin said softly. "I just got out of the hospital a few days ago."
"I promise I won't do anything funny. You can trust me." He grinned, offering Justin his hand.
"I'm sorry but no thanks."
As Justin started to move away from the entrance to the back room, he was jerked back against a very hard chest. Looking up, Justin came face to face with Baxter, a tall skinhead with cold blue eyes. Baxter laughed and nuzzled Justin's tense neck.
"It wasn't an offer, hot stuff." He growled.
Baxter started to half drag the struggling teen towards the chains that lead to the back room, as the kid he'd paid to get Justin's attention walked off to the dance floor.

Scanning the floor, Brian caught sight of Justin being dragged towards the back room of Babylon. He narrowed his eyes, seeing who it was that had latched onto the blonde's wrist. Brian rose, walking to the railing. David caught his movements and saw the concern in Brian's posture. Brian looked to David, who could read it all in those hazel eyes. With a nod to David, the two older men headed after the young man and his assailant. Brian scanned the red-lit back room for the blonde in the horde of men fucking and sucking each other. Knowing who it was the two men were after, the men in the back who had their hands free pointed them toward a private area within the depths of the back room.

While Brian and David searched around for their Sunshine, Baxter was holding down the squirming Justin as he filled the needle in his hand.
"Please don't!" Justin protested. "I'm allergic to a lot of drugs! It might kill me!"
Baxter chuckled. "Relax, baby. After this you'll be so damn mellow you'll enjoy all the things I'm gonna do to you."
Holding Justin still by sitting on his chest, Baxter tied the rubber tube around Justin's upper arm and tapped a vein into appearance. Once it was raised high enough, Baxter drove the needle home, injecting its contents into the terrified teen. After a few moments, Justin's body started to go limp.

It was there, in one of the rooms, that they found Baxter, a drug trading twink with a habit of getting his partners either killed or hurt, shooting something into Justin's arm. Brian handled Baxter, slamming him into the wall while David hurried out, carrying the unconscious teen.
"Guys, we're leaving!" David shouted to the guys, still dancing.
Mikey arched a brow. "What happened?!"
Brian walked up to the two. "Baxter happened."

Saying nothing else, Brian tosses Emmett the keys to his jeep and then took Justin from David. Two cars followed the jeep to the hospital that night. For the entire ride Brian sat in the back with Justin in his arms, stroking his sweaty brow and murmuring soft, soothing words to him as Michael drove. Once at the hospital, Brian called up Jennifer on his cell-phone, telling her what had happened at the club. He held the phone from his ear and let her rant and rave. When she was done, she asked Brian how Baxter got a hold of her son.
"Baxter's a deceiver. He's been stalking Justin for months. I thought I had scared him off. The idiot probably just gave Justin caffeine mixed with very little coke. Yeah, we're in the waiting room. David is talking to the Doctor. Hold on a sec, Jen."
He walked over to David and passed him the cell phone so he could talk to the doctor.
"Hello?"
"It's Jennifer."
"Mrs. Taylor? Yes, Ma'am. He's fine. Ok, Jen it is. Justin's fine. He's staying overnight for observation. No, Michael and I are staying here. Okay, bye Jen."
David handed back Brian's phone to him and watched Michael hug his best friend of sixteen years.
"Go home, Brian. I'll call you as soon as he's up. I promise."
Brian nods, glancing back to Justin's room. With a good night kiss to Michael and a hug to David, Brian headed out to his jeep and back to his loft.
Four hour later, Brian was finally asleep.
**************
At 6:00 A.M. Brian answered his phone. Six a.m. came a hell of a lot earlier than Brian remembered.
"Hello?" came the sleepy murmur.
"It's Mikey. He's up. Here."
The phone was then passed off to someone and soon there was a groggy but irritated voice on the other line. One Brian knew all too well.
"This blows. Two days out of the hospital and I'm back here again."
All Brian could do was laugh at the sound of Justin's pouting voice.
"It's so not funny Brian." He scolded.
"Yes it is, Justin." Still chuckling.
"Come get me?" Brian could just see that cute pout of his.
"I just woke up. Let Mikey and David drop you off. Let me talk to Mikey."
Soon Mikey was back on the line.
"Hmm?"
"Thanks, Mikey. For helping him."
"Well, once you get past his annoying attitude and his smart ass mouth, you get use to him."
"Fuck you, ~Michael~." Justin's muffled voice was heard.
"Language, Wonder Boy."
"Mike," Brian interrupted. "Can you bring him to my place?"
"Yeah, we'll be there in an hour or so. Bye."
"Later."
Once he hung up, Brian managed to get himself out of bed and into the shower. Looking around, he decided to do a little cleaning before Justin got back home.
**************
An hour later he heard the door open, he looked up from his place at his computer.
"Honey! We're home!" Justin and Michael called out in unison.
"Fuck you." He said with a smirk, coming out of his bedroom.
"Promise?" Justin's baby blue eyes lit up.
"Later, Justin." Brian promised.
David just groaned. "I really didn't need to hear that you know."
Michael just chuckled. "There's a lot that Brian says that you don't need to know but you will anyway. They're just dicks on legs."
That got a chuckle out of David. An hour later, it was just Justin and Brian alone in the loft.
"Come on. I got lunch ready for you." Brian purred in his ear.
Taking Justin's hand, Brian led him to the table and set a sandwich down in front of him, sitting to eat a salad himself. After lunch, while Justin did the dishes, Brian worked at his computer, trying to finish up an ad for work.

Later that night, while watching Justin sleep after a session of passionate lovemaking, he realized that the way he and Justin were living was in fact that of a couple's lifestyle. He'd stopped taking the drugs and stopped tricking all together about two months ago. Sitting back against the headboard, he watched his blonde lover breathe softly, a ghost of a smile upon those delicate lips.
Lover.
Lovers.
Whether he wanted to admit it or not, they were lovers now.
Funny how things work out that way, huh?
