Blizzard

Part 2

Brian nuzzled his face into Justin’s neck, and snuggled his baby close. As usual his young lover’s raging morning hard-on was poking him in his belly. “Ummmmm.” Brian smiled, and glided his own awakening giant along Justin’s thigh. “Morning baby.” he mumbled.

“I’m not Justin, it’s me Brian.”

Brian’s eyes flew open. He lifted his head, and looked into Michael’s eyes before rolling away from his friend’s embrace. “Shit.”

“Well good morning to you too.” Michael said sarcastically. “Is this how you treat all of your tricks?”

Brian ignored his friend. He perched himself on the side of the bed, and surveyed his surroundings. For a moment he actually thought that he was at the loft, but then the night came crashing back to him. After throwing his baby out into the snow, then hearing Tony’s voice on Justin’s cell phone, a dejected Brian had decided to venture out into the blustery night. Much to his surprise, Woody’s had been packed to the brim with its regular Friday after work crowd. Brian recalled taking a seat at the bar, and ordering double shots of Jack Daniels. The rest of the night, and how he got to Michael’s was a blur.

“How the fuck did I get here?” Brian groaned and held his pounding head.

“The bartender at Woody’s confiscated your car keys, then called me to come and get you. You were pretty fucked up, even by your standards. What’s Justin done this time?” Michael asked as if he didn’t know. “Justin’s still seeing Tony, isn’t he?”

Brian didn’t have to answer. The look on his face told the whole story.

“How did you find out?” Michael asked.

“I saw Tony’s number on Justin’s cell phone caller ID. Go on, and say it. Tell me I told you so, I’m listening Mikey.” A defeated Brian conceded.

“I’m sorry Brian.”

“Not as sorry as I am.” Brian uttered as he stood up, and stumbled across the room.

Michael sat in the middle of the bed. He watched as his broken friend briefly went into the bathroom, then returned, and began putting on his clothes. “Brian you don’t have to go. Emmett is snowed in at Ted’s, we’ve got the whole place to ourselves. Come back to bed.” he suggested.

“No.” Brian continued dressing.

“You shouldn’t be by yourself right now.” Michael insisted.

“I’ll be ok.”

“Brian...”

“Michael please....” Brian massaged the area above his eyes. He wasn’t in any shape for a fight. He just wanted to go home, and lick his wounds in private.

Michael smiled bleakly, and shook his head. “Last night you told me that you loved me.” he began. “You said that you’ve loved me from the moment that you first saw me. You told me that no one has ever made you feel the way that I do, and in my arms was where you felt most safe, and cherished. You said you were proud to be my man, and never wanted to hurt me. Then you kissed me, and called me Justin right before you passed out.”

Brian didn’t reply. He picked up his jacket, and keys, and walked over to the front door.

“He doesn’t love you Brian.” Michael called to his departing friend. “How many times are you going to let him break your heart? When are you going to realize that I’m the better man for you?”

“I have to go Michael.” Brian said, and closed the door behind him.

Justin yawned, stretched, and rolled over in the covers, allowing the softness of Tony’s featherbed to enfold his body. He reached over, and pulled his lover’s pillow to his chest. It still held the scent of Tony’s custom blend cologne. It had been a simple, yet memorable night. Justin and Tony had popped microwave popcorn, drank chilled Mountain Dew, and watched scary movies. The teen had brought over “Night of The Living Dead,” and Tony had sent out for his favorite, “Psycho”. They never made it past the shower scene. By the time Janet Leah turned on the water the lovers were already lost in each other’s arms. Janet’s screams had been drowned out by Justin’s moans as Tony was fucking Brian’s baby well. Justin’s sweet recollections were suddenly interrupted by the doorbell. He slipped into Tony’s oversized terry robe, and climbed out of the bed to answer it. The unfamiliar man’s eyes widened, and a broad smile spread across his face when he saw Justin. “Hello my name is Kevin, and you are?”................Justin’s eyes flew open. He bolted upright in the center of the bed, in a cold sweat as once again his dreams recalled the stranger who knew Tony, and later assaulted him at the loft. Justin struggled to catch his breath. The dreams were reoccurring more frequently now. It had gotten to the point where he dreaded falling asleep, because to fall asleep was to relive the rape all over again.

Justin’s heart skipped a beat when the doorbell began to ring. He wrapped himself in Tony’s oversized terry robe, and cautiously went to answer it. “Who is it?” He peeked through the security hole in the door.

“Good morning Mr. Taylor, my name is Everlee Johnson. Mr. Massey has assigned me to be your concierge during your stay at The Plaza.”

Justin opened the door slightly. He looked at the well dressed, dark skinned woman holding an armful of clothing draped over her left forearm, and a shopping bag in her right hand. “My what?” he asked.

“Your concierge Mr. Taylor, I’ll be attending to your needs during your stay.” she repeated. “May I come in?”

Justin allowed her entrance. He watched as she breezed past him, and laid an assortment of shirts, and slacks on the sofa, along with two pairs of shoes, Hanes briefs, tees, and socks. “Hi, I’m Everlee.” She said again, this time extending her hand for a formal introduction. “I’m Mr. Massey’s personal attendant whenever he’s in town.”

Justin forced a smile, and returned the handshake. “I’m Justin.” he said.

Everlee turned toward the articles of clothing she had placed on the sofa. “I took the liberty of selecting a few things from the hotel boutique for you.” she said. “Mr. Massey gave me your approximate sizes. If these aren’t to your liking, I’ll be happy to select something else for you.”

“Is Tony here?” Justin asked.

“No sir, Mr. Massey couldn’t make it in. Due to the snow, everything is at a stand still. The hotel is filled with stranded travelers from the airport. Most of our own employees had to sleep here last night, myself included. We even lost telephone communications for a time.”

Justin walked over and looked out of the terrace window. Downtown Pittsburgh looked like an ice age. “Jesus, what happened?” he asked.

“Thirteen inches of snow is what happened.” Everlee said.

“Where’s my car?”

“I had your car towed to our security garage.”

“I have to get home.” Justin said without thinking, then quickly remembered that he no longer had a home to go to. He had never seen Brian so angry before. Justin’s comparison of him to Tony had thrown Brian into a blind rage that ended up with him being thrown onto the hallway floor outside of the loft’s door.

“May I suggest that you consider staying here, at least until the streets have been cleared. Mr. Taylor.... Mr. Taylor?”

“I’m sorry, what did you say?”

“I was suggesting that you relax, and enjoy your stay with us. Mr. Massey has ordered that every accommodation is to be made for your comfort. Would you like your breakfast now?” Everlee smiled.

After skipping dinner last night, Justin was ravenous. He wolfed down steak and scrambled eggs, two croissants with butter, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a bowlful of strawberries. The stuffed young man had no sooner crawled back into bed when the phone began to ring. “Good morning princess. How did you sleep?” Tony’s voice sang across the wire.

“I slept like a princess.” Justin lied. “Good morning handsome. Where are you?”

“I’m at home, Mary says hello.”

Justin smiled. “Tell Mary hi, and that I miss her chocolate fudge cake.” he said.

“I hear the Pitts is snowed in.” Tony said.

“Yeah, nothing’s moving.” Justin confirmed.

“In that case, you stay there where it’s safe and warm.” Tony insisted. “Have you had your breakfast yet?”

“Have I? I think I ate too much.” Justin rubbed his belly.

“Have you met Everlee?”

“Yes, she’s very nice.”

“She’s excellent. If there’s anything that you need, tell her, she can get it for you.” Tony said with confidence.

“Thanks for letting me stay here last night Tony.”

“I told you that you were always welcomed at my place. I’m sorry my security gave you such a hard time, but they were taken aback by your manner of dress.”

Justin faked a yawned. “I’m sleepy Tony, I’ll talk to you later.” he said.

“Not so fast young man.” Tony’s voice wasn’t singing anymore. “Why were you out in a blizzard in your pajamas, and slippers?”

“I wasn’t in my pajamas, they were lounging sweats.” Justin danced around the answer.

“Did that whore kick you out into the streets like that?”

“Don’t call him that Tony.”

“Did he?”

“It wasn’t Brian’s fault. I shouldn’t have.....”

“THAT SON-OF-A-BITCH, I’M KICKING HIS ASS!  MARY, GET MY PILOT ON THE LINE!” Tony roared.

“Oh no, Tony wait. I.....”

“DID HE HIT YOU?”

“No, of course not! He was just.....”

“IT DOESN’T MATTER, I’M STILL KICKING HIS ASS! MARY!”

“Tony please.....”

“TONY PLEASE MY ASS.......MARY!” Tony roared even louder.

“It wasn’t Brian’s fault.....” Justin tried again.

“AND IT WON’T BE MY FAULT WHEN I KICK THAT BITCH’S ASS! Fuck, I knew I should have shot that whore when I had the chance.” Tony hissed. “Shit, I would have been out of jail by now!”

Justin could hear Mary attempting to reason with her irate boss in the background. “Don’t argue with me Mary, do as I say!” Tony barked. “Find my goddamn pilot! Tell him to juice up the Lear, or get me a chopper. I have to get to this motherfucker!”

“Tony please don’t come.” Justin begged. “I told you it wasn’t Brian’s fault, I shouldn’t have said what I did. I shouldn’t have compared him to you!”

Justin’s last sentence caught his raving ex-lover’s attention. “Compare him to me, how the hell can you compare that skeezer to me?” Tony growled.

Justin told Tony about Vanguard Advertising’s client appreciation dinner, and his new silk suit, with coordinating shirt and tie. Tony listened as Justin told him how he, and Brian were now a couple, how Brian had changed, and how happy they had been until last night’s argument, when Justin’s comparison of his two lovers threw Brian into a jealous rage that landed him at The Plaza. “Tony, are you still there?” Justin asked.

“I’m still here princess.” Tony said calmly. “Justin, there’s something that you need to understand. While Brian certainly makes a decent living, he’s still what’s considered as “working class”. You can’t expect him to have all of the same financial privileges that I have. I can take you everywhere with me because I have the bank to tell anyone who doesn’t like it to kiss my ass, and that princess is yet another reason why you should be with me. Justin, when are you going to realize that I’m the better man for you?”

“I have to go Tony.” Justin said.

While other brave drivers struggled to maintain control of their vehicles, Brian’s jeep easily tracked through the half cleared streets. The morning aftermath of abandoned cars stuck in drifts, and knee deep snow was evidence of how the blizzard of 2003 had brought the city of Pittsburgh to its proverbial knees. Brian pulled into his plowed parking space, and looked for the little red Celica. As expected, Justin hadn’t returned home. Home? Brian reminded himself that this was no longer Justin’s home. He had thrown his baby out into the cold, and right back into the arms of Anthony Massey, if indeed Justin had ever left them. Brian took the elevator up to his floor. As he stepped off, much to his surprise he was greeted by a small blonde figure sitting outside of his door.

“Where have you been?” Justin asked.

Brian slid the loft door open. “Where have I been? Where have you been?” He nonchalantly threw the question back.

“I stayed at The Plaza”. Justin said.

“Well at least you were honest about that.” Brian stepped inside the loft, and kicked off his shoes.

Justin followed.

“Where’s your car?” Brian asked as he headed for the bedroom. He took off his leather jacket, and hung it in the closet.

Justin walked over to the bottom of the bedroom steps. “I left it in The Plaza garage, and took one of the hotel limos home.” he said.

“Is the limo coming back to pick you up?”

Justin watched as Brian finished removing his clothes. “That’s up to you Brian. Do you want me to go?”

Brian headed to the bathroom without looking back. “Suit yourself.” He said, and stepped into the shower.

Justin stood outside of the shower door. “Where did you stay last night?” He called over the water.

“I stayed at Michael’s”

“Michael’s, why would you go out into a blizzard to spend the night at Michael’s?”

“Why would you go out into a blizzard to spend the night at Tony’s?” Brian called back.

“I needed a place for the night. You threw me out, remember?.......

“And you couldn’t wait to get to Tony!”

Justin removed his clothes, and stepped into the shower behind his jealous lover. “Tony wasn’t even there.” He said gently, and eased the soap from Brian’s hands.

“What did you do, have phone sex again? I checked your caller ID, I know you’ve been calling him.”

“Since when do you go through my phone numbers?” Justin placed a kiss in the center of his lover’s back.

“Since when do you go through my briefcase?” Brian wasn’t about to give in.

“I called him once.” Justin admitted, and began to lather Brian’s back.

“For what?”

“Just to talk.” Justin lied. (Now was not the time to bring up the down payment for the Celica.)

Brian turned around to face Justin, he was about to continue their discussion when he noticed the bruises on his baby’s arms. Brian’s eyes followed the colorful pattern down to Justin’s waist, and around to his buttock. “Jesus, did I do that?” he gasped.

“It must have happened when I fell in the hallway.” Justin attempted to make light of his injuries.

“You didn’t fall, I picked you up, and I threw you. I shouldn’t have done that. I’m sorry baby.” Brian embraced him.

Justin melted into his lover’s arms. “I’m sorry too Brian.” he uttered. “I shouldn’t have said what I did, there’s no comparing you to Tony. It’s all about you daddy, you’re the one that I love.”

Brian found his baby’s mouth, and gave him a long night’s kiss. “You know I love it when you call me daddy.” he purred.

“Daddy.” Justin cooed.
