Breathless

Chapter Ten

EIGHT MONTHS LATER
DEB'S HOUSE

Justin smiled in contentment as he snuggled against his husband and looked at their family surrounding them. He felt Brian's arms momentarily tighten around him. With a smile, he thought back to when he and Brian finally got married.

FLASHBACK--FIVE MONTHS AGO

"Are you absolutely sure about this?" Molly asked Justin for what seemed like the hundredth time.

Justin rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yes, Mom, I'm sure."

Molly smiled. Her heart still melted whenever she heard Justin call her mom. "I just want to make sure."

Justin smiled. "I know. But I love Brian and I know that he loves me." It had taken a couple of months, but Justin was finally able to completely trust Brian again. Something both men were glad for.

Just then, Daphne walked into the living room and asked, "Are you ready, Jus?"

Justin took a deep breath and smiled. "Absolutely." There was a slight pause as Justin bit his bottom lip. "You two are sure that I don't look fat?"

"You don't," said Daphne.

Molly agreed. "You look beautiful."

Justin smiled, taking hold of both women's hands as the three of them walked out of Debbie's house to her backyard, where the wedding was being held. Their "family" were all in attendance. It was a small, intimate affair.

The backyard was decorated beautifully. Debbie, Daphne, Molly, Lindsay, Melanie and Emmett had gone all out. It was dusk outside. There were tiny white lights all woven through the trees. There were long-stemmed red and blue roses leading down the "aisle". White chairs were set up on both sides of the "aisle". There was a long table on the far left side of the yard, waiting to be filled with food. Everything looked so beautiful. Justin started to tear up.

"Are you alright, Jus?" Daphne asked when she saw a tear roll down Justin's cheek.

Justin nodded as he wiped the tear away. "It's these damn hormones," he said as he gave a slight chuckle. Daphne and Molly smiled. Daphne in amusement, Molly in understanding. Justin looked straight ahead and saw Brian standing, with Michael and Pastor Allen Thomas, and felt his breath catch. Brian was gorgeous. He was always handsome, but, well, he was extra handsome in his black tuxedo today. Justin guessed it was because he was about to be married to the man.

As if feeling eyes on him, Brian turned his head and looked at Justin. He smiled the special smile that he only smiled for Justin and mouthed, 'I love you'.

'I love you,' Justin mouthed back just as the music started playing. Daphne started down the "aisle" first since she was the "best woman". A couple of minutes later, with Molly on his right, Justin started down the "aisle", his blue eyes remaining locked with Brian's hazel ones the whole time.

When Molly and Justin reached Brian, Molly kissed him on the cheek, then went and sat down by an already sobbing Debbie. Justin stood, in his gray tuxedo, across from Brian.

Pastor Thomas started speaking. "We are joined here, today, to witness and celebrate this joyous union between Justin Taylor and Brian Kinney. If anyone has any objections, please state them now or forever hold your peace."

"I object!" called a voice. All heads turned in the direction of the voice and saw that it was Justin's father, Brad.

Justin sighed. "I should've known," he whispered. But he wasn't quiet enough, since Brian heard him.

"It'll be okay, baby," Brian soothed.

"What are your objections?" Pastor Thomas asked.

"I object to this farce of a... marriage!" Brad said as he sneered in Brian and Justin's direction.

"Is that all?" the Pastor asked.

"Isn't that enough?!" Brad bellowed.

The Pastor shook his head. "I'm assuming that you're objecting because you're against gay marriages. That's not a good enough reason, since Misters Taylor and Kinney are both of age."

"Justin's not of age! He's not even eighteen!"

Justin had had enough. His face red with anger, he spat, "That's where you're wrong, Dad. I turned eighteen yesterday, thank you very much."

"Why you smart-mouthed little..." Brad trailed off as he raised his hand to slap Justin.

Brian caught his wrist before the hit could land, and held onto it tightly. "If I were you, I'd keep my hands to myself and leave," Brian quietly snarled. "I thought you had learned that I don't want to be pissed off," Brian added.

Everyone could see that Brad was scared but was trying to put on a brave front. "I'm not scared of you. You're nothing but a... pansy." Inclining his head in Justin's direction, Brad added, "And he's just a good for nothing faggot that's about to have your bastard child."

Brad had just finished speaking when Brian's fist collided with his face, knocking him down on his ass. He was dazed, not quite understanding what had happened. Brian knelt down beside him and tapped his cheek, with his hand, to get the man's attention. When he knew that Brad was aware enough to understand him, Brian spoke. "I'm going to give you one piece of advice, you piece of shit. I never want to find out that you've contacted, or are trying to contact, Justin again. If I hear that you've been causing problems, I won't hesitate to take action. And, believe me, I know people. People that think causing pain is fun. Do you understand me?"

Brad shakily nodded. After getting to his feet, unassisted, Brad left without a backwards look or a word.

Brian looked at Justin and said, "I know that he's your father, but--"

Justin gave Brian a soft smile and cupped his face. "I'm happy that you hit him, or I would have. And I don't think I should be fighting in my condition. I know that I've always felt as if I were missing out on something because I didn't have a father. But I've come to realize that I'm not. Especially with him. Now, let's get this show back on the road!"

After Pastor Thomas had calmed everyone's laughter, he continued. "Brian and Justin have written their own vows. Justin, you may start."

Justin took a deep breath, looking deep into Brian's eyes, and began speaking. "I love you, Brian Aiden Kinney. I have since I first met you, when I was ten. I didn't completely understand what it was, then. But I knew that, somehow, we would be together. I'm happy and proud to have your child growing inside of me. I love you with all of my heart and soul and will continue to do so even after we're both gone." With that said, Justin slipped a gold band onto Brian's left ring finger. Inscribed inside the band were the words Forever Yours.

Brian swallowed and everyone could see that his green eyes were watery. But his voice was steady when he began speaking. "I love you, too, Justin. You're my Sunshine. Always have been. Even when I didn't want to admit it. Even when I was a class-A screw-up. You humble and awe me with your understanding and patience. You have my heart and soul, completely, and always will." With that said, Justin's left ring finger was adorned with a gold band. Inside the band was inscribed Always Yours.

"You may now kiss," said Pastor Thomas. Brian and Justin's lips met in a sweet kiss, that quickly turned passionate. When they heard several throats clearing, the reluctantly pulled apart, remembering that they had an audience.

"I now present Mr. Justin Taylor-Kinney and Mr. Brian Kinney-Taylor!" The "family" rose to their feet cheering and clapping.

AN HOUR LATER

The table had been laden down with food. Fried chicken, potato salad, garden salad, biscuits, mashed potatoes, gravy and cornbread. There was also a five-tier cake that Molly and Debbie had spent hours baking and decorating. It was vanilla with chocolate frosting. On top were two little grooms.

After the cake was cut and everyone had gotten pictures of Brian and Justin feeding each other, Ben announced, "Time for the first dance!"

The chairs were moved and a CD was put on to play. Brian and Justin smiled when they heard the song. How true the lyrics were. They wrapped their arms around each other, swaying to the music.

Go on go on
Leave me breathless
Come on [echo...]

Hey... yeah...

The daylight's fading slowly
The time with you is standing still
I'm waiting for you only
The slightest touch and I feel weak
I cannot lie, from you I cannot hide
And I'm losing the will to try
Can't hide it (can't hide it), can't fight it (can't fight it)

So go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can't deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling)
Make me long for your kiss
Go on (go on), go on (go on)
Yeah...
Come on
Yeah...

Justin smiled at Brian, not believing that they were married and expecting. He had never been happier. He felt like he just couldn't quit smiling.

And if there's no tomorrow
And all we have is here and now
I'm happy just to have you
You're all the love I need somehow
It's like a dream
Although I'm not asleep
And I never want to wake up
Don't lose it (don't lose it), don't leave it (don't leave it)

"If this is a dream, I never want to wake up," whispered Justin.

"Baby, it's no dream," Brian whispered against Justin's ear before giving it a soft nip. "This is reality and it's so much better than any old dream." Justin chuckled and couldn't agree more.

So go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can't deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling)
Make me long for your kiss
Go on (go on), go on (go on)
Yeah...
Come on [echo...]

[Guitar's solo] Yeah-ie, yeah, yeah-ie, yeah...

And I can't lie
From you I cannot hide
And I've lost my will to try
Can't hide it (can't hide it), can't fight it, (can't fight it)

So go on, (go on) go on, (go on), come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can't deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling) Make me long for your kiss

Go on, (go on) go on, (go on) come on, leave... me breathless
Go on, (go on) go on, (go on) come on, leave... me breathless
Go on, (go on) go on, (go on) come on, leave... me breathless
Go on... go on!

When the song ended, Brian, being extremely careful, dipped Justin slightly and kissed him. When they pulled apart, Justin fanned himself. "You've still got it. You can still leave me breathless!" Justin declared. Brian smirked as everyone laughed and shook their heads in fond amusement.

BACK TO THE PRESENT

"Justin!" exclaimed Ted.

Justin shook his head and looked at everyone staring at him.

"You back with us, baby?" asked Brian. "We've been trying to get your attention for several minutes. You had us worried."

Justin blushed. "Sorry. I was just remembering."

"Remembering what?" asked Michael.

"Brian's and my wedding day." Before anything else could be said, Justin sat straight up and yelped as a sharp pain hit.

"What is it? Are you okay?" Brian asked.

"I think I'm in labor." Just then, Justin's water broke.

"Definitely in labor," commented Debbie.

After a two hour cesarean, Brian was holding his and Justin's baby boy up for the whole family to see, while Justin was in recovery. He would wait until Justin was completely awake and aware before he announced the baby's name. He thought that it was something that he and his husband should do together.

The next morning, Justin was awake. Other than for being in some discomfort from the surgery, he was happy and healthy. As was the baby. Everyone was let into Justin's hospital room. They all barely fit and were given strict instructions they they could only stay for a few minutes. The baby was covered in a blue blanket, held safely in Justin's arms. Brian was sitting on the other side of the bed, with his arm wrapped protectively and lovingly around Justin's shoulders.

Smiling with pride, Brian spoke. "May we present our son, Matthew Randell Taylor-Kinney!"
