New Life

Part 4

Brian opened the door and quickly stood aside as a little ball of energy flew through his doorway. He looked behind himself and saw Stephanie standing there with a brown paper bag in one hand and in the other a cardboard tray with two togo coffee cups.

"Okay, so I know that we don't know each other that well, but I thought that you could take me around and show me more of this town. That way we could get to know each other more. I mean we have to know each other a bit if you are going to be doing the advertising for my company. I want some of myself and my partner to come through in what ever you do. So, I got bagels and cream cheese, it's lox cream cheese, I hope that's alright, and I got you a double skinny latte. Is this alright with you?"

Brian just looked at her in amazement as she talked. He just couldn't believe how many words she was able to get out in what seemed like one breath. This woman in front of him was almost totally different than the one who he had just conducted business with the previous day. This woman was like a child, full of life and curious about everything. It was truly hard to image that both could live in the same body and mind. He looked at her and smiled.

"Sure, we can spend the day together. Let me just call in and tell my assistant."

He had just gotten off the phone and turned around to tell Stephanie that he was just going to get ready. He looked at her and she was on her cell, frowning. Brian got dressed and came out to see if she was off the phone. She was and she wasn't quite as gleeful as before.

"Listen, Brian, something happened at work again, do you mind if we go in for just a little while? We are just setting up a new office here and things aren't going as easy as we would like them to go."

"I understand. Of course we can go in, anyways, I would like to see where you work. It would give me more of an idea about you, your partner, and your company."

They got into Stephanie's car, which wasn't her baby Eclipse, but instead a Toyota RAV4. Much to Brian's surprise, this was her "practical" car that she used more regularly. She was on the phone for most of the ride as she expertly found her way from Brian's apartment to her office with the help of the GPS consult above her radio. They finally arrived and much to Brian's amazement there were 4 people in very classy suits waiting outside a 10 story building. And in Pittsburgh, that wasn't a very tall building at all. As soon as Stephanie stepped out of the car all 4 of the people standing outside came over to her and started talking to her at once. He was sort of pushed off to the side.

"I need to speak with JT, right now. I also need one of you to take care of Brian, here, if he needs anything get it for him."

She disappeared into the building and Brian stood in shock. The woman that she left with him hovered around him. He woke up from his shock and wandered into the building.

A few stories above him Stephanie was in the middle of a heated argument with the man know as JT. In reality there hadn't been an emergency, JT had called her in a panic because he didn't agree with her hiring of Brian's firm to be their new advertiser.

"What in the hell is your problem? We agreed that all major business decision would be made by me. You would be in charge of the creative aspects of this business. So I ask again, what the hell is wrong with you?" Stephanie yelled at her blue haired companion.

"What the hell is wrong with me? I'm not the one who is choosing a man that you know I have history with to work for us. You know I still have feelings for him, why are you doing this to me? How am I supposed to work in the same room with him when he might not even like me any more? That would just kill me." JT yelled back at her, ending his little speech with a voice of sadness.

"I could see it in his eyes as he looked at you yesterday. Trust me, he still wants you. And there is one way we could see if he still wants you." She said with a little smile on her face.

"What's that way?"

"I'll tell you in just a sec. Let me just go down and tell Brian that the problem is more serious than I thought."

Stephanie went down to where Brian was and told him that she was sorry, but they really couldn't do anything today because of how much work she had to do at this office. He said he understood and would love to take her around town later in the week. She got him a driver to take him home and went back upstairs to JT.

"So about this plan?", were the first words out of his mouth as she stepped inside the room.

"You are going to seduce him."

"What? How?"

"Be his secret admirer. So are you up to this task, Justin?"

"I haven't been called that in years. Don't worry I'm up to the task. I'm going to make Brian Kinney realize that he can't live without me." The blond haired man with the icy blue tips smiled at his companion for the last 5 or so years.
