Stories in this series have been inspired by musicians, lyricists, authors, painters and other kinds of artists who deserve to be acknowledged for their influence in my work. I hope that in my stories my respect of their work can be seen.

Beery Busy Night on Liberty Avenue

Once upon a time there were four young men who frequented a club called Babylon on Liberty Avenue. One fateful night in late summer they were on their way to Babylon, but they never made it. Things happen, they do… but when a river of beers, men's room mishaps, and tricking mix together, … well suspicions rise… maybe the guys have a screw or two loose… But every one of the four got home to their own beds by the end of the "beery" night.

Carl Horvath is a patient and forbearing man, but even his forbearance has its limits. On a hot summer day, his tolerance was tested as he worked with the boys the whole day through. Then, in the evening, the boys persuaded him to come with them to Liberty Avenue…

A Professional of Love

A Friday night is not a night of leisure for all the men crowding Liberty Avenue. For some of the men the dimming daylight is a sign of the rapidly nearing time to begin their job. One of these men has chosen Woody's for his favorite stage to perform in his profession. On that particular Friday night he found his job quite challenging.
