Nothing Will Keep Us Apart

Part 2

Author's Note:  The age difference between Brian and Justin is 11.5 years (Justin turned 18 in ep 114 and Brian turned 30 in ep 122...)  In the beginning Brian was 13 y.o., so that would make Justin 1.5 y.o.  After 6 months, Brian is 13.5 and Justin is 2.\

Brian ran upstairs to check on Justin who was just waking up from his nap. Brian picked him up and talked to him in a serious tone. “Justin, we have a huge problem.”

"Pwoblem?"

"Yeah. They want to separate us, take you away from me." Justin didn’t really understand what Brian was saying, so Brian tried to explain it to him in other words.

"They’re gonna take you far, far away and you won’t see me again. We won’t be able to play together anymore, watch Yellow Submarine or go to the park. I’m gonna miss you." A tear slipped from Brian’s eye, just before Justin started sobbing uncontrollably. Brian tried to calm Justin down, rubbing soothing circles on his back and whispering in his ear. "Don’t cry Jus. I won’t let them take you away from me. I promise. But you have to help me. When those bad people will come, you have to be a bad boy. You need to cry and throw things and do all the stuff that you are not allowed to do. Can you be a bad baby until they go away?" Justin’s sobs subsided and nodded his head in agreement. "Good. Now we need to get you ready for later."

~3 hours later~

"Brian, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are here. Please bring Justin down."

Brian took Justin and whispered in his ear. "The bad people are here. Don’t forget our plan. Brian and Justin went downstairs to the living room and Brian used all of his will power not to run away after he saw how smitten the Taylors were with Justin.

"Hi Justin." The lady said. Justin buried his face in Brian’s shoulder. "Oh my, he is so adorable." The lady gushed.

"No!" Justin shouted.

"No what?" Mr. Taylor asked.

"No dowable…me bad."

Mrs. Johnson laughed in embarrassment and said. "He is just kidding. I think he’s a little excited. He is a shy baby."

"Don’t worry" said Mr. Taylor. "We’ll butch him up. I’ll take him to football games and we’ll play baseball in the back yard and..."

Mr. Taylor was stopped abruptly by Justin’s shouts. "No…no…no. Me play with Brian."

Mrs. Taylor tried to change the subject. "And who is this nice young man?"

"I’m his brother," Brian answered. Mrs. Taylor stared at him with shock written all over her face but soon her WASPy manners took over and she asked Mrs. Johnson in a clipped tone, "Brother? You didn’t mention any brother. We’re not adopting two children, just one, and that would be Justin.

"Oh don’t worry, he’s not really his brother, it’s just a game they like to play. They’re just pretending."

Brian countered, "we’re not pretending. He’s my brother. He’s all I have."

Mrs. Johnson glared at Brian and continued, "Brian, give Justin to Mrs. Taylor. I’m sure she wants to hold her child."

Brian walked hesitantly to Mrs. Taylor and tried to hand Justin to her, but Justin hung on to Brian’s neck and refused to let go. He started kicking his little feet, which soon connected with Mr. Taylor’s chin who sat next to Mrs. Taylor. Mr. Taylor held his chin and started shouting  "You little..."

"Craig calm down," his wife shushed. "He didn’t do it on purpose. Come here Justin."

Justin started crying so loud that soon Mrs. Johnson told Brian to take Justin upstairs. "I don’t know what happened to him," Mrs. Johnson tried to reassure the soon-to-be parents. "He’s usually such a quiet little baby, very sweet and friendly."

Once upstairs and presumably safe, Brian gave Justin a ‘high five,’ adding, "alright Justin. We did it! You were great, but now you need to be a good baby again, ok?"

"Ok," Justin, happily replied.

But Brian and Justin’s happiness was short-lived, ‘cause soon they heard voices from the living room. Brian went and stood just outside the living room putting his finger to his lips so Justin would know that he had to be quiet. "So it’s settled then. You’ll come tomorrow to take him when Brian is at school. I’m sure there won’t be any problems if Brian is not around," Mrs. Johnson intoned. "You’ll make a beautiful family." Brian sunk to the floor with Justin in his arms. He couldn’t believe that they were going to take Justin away from him. His plan didn’t work…it was time to move to plan B.
