I Will Remember You

Chapter 12

~ The King of Babylon ~

The Pitts, Two Days before Jennifer's Wedding

After leaving the diner, Brian and Tee spent the rest of the day visiting with Gus. They'd taken him out to the park, feed the ducks, played at the playground. The toddler had finally fallen asleep in the baby swing, 'plum tuckered out' (as Tee put it). They'd taken him home after that and had been invited to stay for dinner.

As usual, Mel and Brian sniped at each other while Lindsay tried to maintain peace. With amusement, Tee found himself thinking that this is what it looks like when two alpha males start stomping over the same territory. After Gus woke up from his nap, the men took him outside to play in the backyard while Lindsay started dinner.

"Tee seems to be a very personable young man." Lindsay observed, watching the trio through the kitchen window.

"'Young' being the operative word." Mel said dryly.

"Now, Mel. We shouldn't judge. He seems quite mature for his age." Lindsay said.

"Or maybe he just seems mature in comparison to his companion." Mel added.

Lindsay sighed. Some things never seemed to change. "Brian seems to have mellowed a bit since he went to NY. And Gus is certainly happy to see him."

Mel snorted, "Probably had the kid suck him off before they got here, that's why he's so mellow."

Rolling her eyes, Lindsay decided to let it drop and concentrated on dinner.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Lindsay called them in to dinner, the three men headed up to the bathroom to get cleaned up. Gus, who usually hated having to wash his hands, or anything else for that matter, was thrilled to be cleaning up with his Dada and Dee (he hadn't quite been able to get the 't' sound).
At Brian's request, Lindsay placed Gus' highchair between the two men and they took turns 'helping' the toddler eat his meal. That mostly consisted of making sure that more of the food got in Gus than on him. Mel had commented on the fact that Tee seemed quite adept at handling an active one-year-old. Laughing, Tee replied that he had often been conscripted into babysitting for his nieces and nephews.
Although she would never have admitted it, Mel also noticed how patient Brian was with his son. He hadn't even gotten upset when Gus had upturned his bowl of macaroni and cheese, splattering most of it down Brian's shirt and into his lap. Brian had just sighed and made a comment about needing a bowl that could be fastened to the high chair tray.
After dinner, Mel took Gus up for his bath then Brian helped tuck him into bed for the night. Looking at his sleeping son, Brian was struck by much he had enjoyed this day and how little time he'd spent doing this sort of thing. He made a mental note to talk to Lindsay and see if they couldn't work something out so that he could spend more time with his son.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was still a bit early when Brian and Tee arrived back at the hotel to change for the evening. While Brian was in the shower, Tee called Justin.

"So, how'd the day of shopping with the ladies go?" Tee asked.

"Um, not bad." Justin laughed. "Mom must not like what I've been wearing, 'cause she bought me all kinds of new clothes."

Tee grinned, "Can't wait to see what we've got. Community property, ya know."

Justin snorted, "Seems to work that way when I have something *you* want."

"You got it…I'm no dummy." Tee laughed again. "Hey, we're planning on going to a dance club called Babylon on Liberty Avenue. Want to meet us there?"

Justin thought about it for a moment, then said hesitantly. "I don't know, Tee. I'm not really in the mood for clubbing tonight."

Tee knew better. Justin was always in the mood for clubbing. "Jus, if you're worried about running into people who know you, just say so. I know it's still kinda freaky for you to meet someone who remembers you from before when you don't remember them."

Justin sighed, wondering why he even tried to hide things from Tee. "OK, I admit it. The thought had crossed my mind and … I just don't think I want to deal with that. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet your Brian later this week."

Tee smiled, even though Justin couldn't see it. "Yeah, we'll work something out. Maybe after the ceremony, things will be quieter. See ya."

"Later."

Brian stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist. It sounded as though Tee was talking to someone, but as he walked into the main room, Tee was just sitting on the bed, alone. "Have you taken up talking to yourself now?" He inquired.

Tee grinned, holding up his cell phone. "No, I was just checking in, letting people know where I was."

Brian tossed the towel aside and pulled on a pair of black jeans. "Ahh, at least I needn't worry for your sanity just yet."

Tee laughed, "I thought that was a foregone conclusion already."

Brian just smiled and stretched out on the bed next to Tee. Changing the subject, he said. "I never knew how much energy a one year old has. I think I should have been the one taking a nap today."

"Feeling your age, old man?" Tee smirked. He knew Brian was a bit sensitive about his age, but he'd learned to take a little bit of ribbing with good humor.

Unfortunately for Tee, Brian had learned one of his deep, dark secrets. Tee was extremely ticklish. Pouncing on the younger man, Brian put his knowledge to good use. "I'll show you old, child."

After rolling around the bed for a few minutes, trying to throw off his attacker, Tee finally conceded, "Uncle!" He gasped.

Brian fell back, laughing. The thought passed through his mind that his Pitts friends would have had quite a shock if they had seen him acting like an overgrown, schoolboy this way. Well, fuck them, he thought. He was enjoying himself.

"Tee, would you mind if we skipped Babylon tonight?" Brian didn't know why, but the idea just didn't seem to hold any allure for him.

Sensing that there was something more that just being tired behind this, Tee just shrugged. "That's fine." Unbidden, a yawn suddenly hit him. "Looks like maybe I'm the one that needed to take that nap. How about we see what's on TV?"

Brian sat up and grabbed the remote from the bedside table. They found an old Star Trek movie on, the one about the whales, and left it there.

"You know, there's a ton of fanfics written about the Star Trek characters." Tee observed.

Brian, who had never heard of fanfic before meeting Tee, glanced over at him. "I thought you were into 'Angel'."

"Well, yeah. That's my personal fav. Especially slash. Can you believe people write slash about Kirk/Spock." Tee shuddered at the thought.

"Slash being…?" Brian asked, curious as to what the difference might be.

"That's were the author writes about the two characters in a sexual relationship. Hence, Kirk/Spock would be…" He let that thought trail off.

Brain snorted at the thought. "Why would anyone want to write about characters that only fuck once every seven years?"

Tee laughed, "Maybe that's why Kirk had rendezvous with every female, alien or human, that he came across. It'd be the ultimate open, if one-sided, relationship."

Brian smirked at the thought, "You'd best stick with 'Angel' kid. At least he's hot."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The house was quiet, as everyone else had already turned in for the night. Justin however, hadn't been able to sleep and was rummaging through the fridge, looking for a late night snack. He fixed himself a sandwich and sat at the table eating, thinking about his conversation with Tee earlier.
Why was it that even after a year, he still tried to avoid running into people he had known before the bashing? Was he just trying to avoid the awkwardness of it? Or was he trying to avoid places where 'he' might be? Would it really be so terrible if he did run into 'him'?
Finishing up his sandwich, Justin reached a decision. He left his mom a note saying that he'd borrowed the car and would be back before morning. Changing quickly, he headed out to see what kind of trouble he could get into at that club, Babylon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Justin was amazed at how easily he'd gotten into the club. Even though there was a line, as soon as the bouncer at the door spotted him, he had called him over and ushered him in with a grin. Perplexed, Justin walked through the entrance to be cheerfully (and seductively) greeted by several others. He was beginning to wonder just how much time he'd spent in this place.

Once inside, Justin noticed some large pictures off to one side under the banner heading, 'King of Babylon'. And there, with 2001 underneath, was his picture.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The movie had ended and Brian flicked it off with the remote. Tee, who had apparently fallen asleep at some point, roused again at the sudden lack of sound. "Is it over already?" he yawned.
"It's late… you slept through most of it." Brian said. He didn't mention that he had dosed off as well, waking when the credits started rolling.
Feeling more refreshed and a little guilty for blowing Michael off about Babylon, Brian asked. "So, you still up for some clubbing?"
Tee looked surprised. "I thought you were passing on it tonight."
Brian just shrugged, "All that talk about Kirk/Spock has me horny. Need to find a tight ass to sink my dick into."
Laughing, Tee pulled himself out of bed. "Let me grab a shower and I'll be ready to go."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ted and Emmett were standing on the catwalk looking out over the dance floor when Emmett suddenly let out a shriek, "Oh my god! I can't believe who just walked in."

Looking around, Ted finally managed to find the cause of his friend's excitement. Justin was walking along the edge of the dance floor, making his way to the bar.

Grabbing Ted's hand, Emmett headed for their old friend. Justin was just getting a bottle of beer when he found himself accosted by a large, colorful man holding a large, colorful drink. "Baby! It's so good to see you again. I should have known you'd be in town for your mother's wedding. How have you been? You look fabulous!"

Justin managed to pull back, wary. This was exactly the type of thing he tried to avoid. This guy obviously knew him. But Justin didn't have a clue as to who he was. Another man, slightly older and almost colorless, pulled the colorful man back.

"Em, take it easy. I don't think Justin remembers us." The colorless man said.

The colorful man's hand flew to his mouth in chagrin, "Oh, baby. I'm so sorry. Where *are* my manners?" Waving to the colorless man, he said, "This is Ted Schmidt and I'm Emmett Honeycutt. We used to have so much fun hanging out here together." Noticing the suggestive looks Justin was receiving, Em continued. "And you are apparently just as much in demand as ever."

Justin took a long drink from his bottle, trying to calm his heart which was still racing from being started. He actually found himself liking the over the top Emmett. He kind of reminded him of an older, more colorful version of Tris.

"Did I spend a lot of time here?" Justin asked, thinking again of the photo he'd seen coming in.

"Oh, just when Brian was here, which was almost every night." Ted said dryly, then coughed as Em's elbow hit him in the chest.

"You were just the most popular thing!" Em gushed.

Justin decided to ask about the photo, in a round about way. "I guess being the King of Babylon does give one a certain notoriety."

Em looked a little surprised, apparently thinking Justin must have some memory of the event. "Oh, baby. You had every man in the place drooling after you that night. You were positively delicious looking in those white briefs with that leather belt, dancing around the stage. If you weren't such a good friend, I'd have gone after you myself."

Ted snorted, "And you sure put Brian in his place, stealing his trick right out from under him." Ted coughed again as he received another elbow.

Justin was finding this information quite interesting, as well as a little shocking. He'd been dancing on the stage in his underwear? What on earth had prompted that? And who was this Brian that Emmett didn't want Ted talking about.

He wasn't sure if he wanted to hang out with these guys or not. But, Justin figured with the right prompting, they could be worth some good information. Especially concerning a part of his life that no one else seemed to know much about.

"I think I'll go up to the catwalk." Justin said. "Care to join me?" He headed off without waiting to see if they followed or not.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Babylon was just the same as Brian remembered it. Same men, same music, even the same bartender. "Beam and two beers." He ordered.
Tee was already looking around for possible conquests. This was much bigger than the clubs he'd been to in Columbia. He took the beer Brian offered and downed it fairly quickly. He waited until Brian had finished with his, then started bouncing in place. "I'm for dancing, how about you?"
Brian was thinking more along the lines of the backroom. "You go ahead. I'll catch up with you later." He watched as Tee bounced off, having no trouble at all finding a trick to dance with.
Searching the room, Brian spotted a tall blond that looked promising. In less than five minutes, he had maneuvered his way across the floor to the blond and was heading to the backroom with the trick in tow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Justin spotted Tee dancing with a tall brunette and considered going down to the dance floor until he saw another tall brunette moving across the floor. He felt his mouth go dry as he watched the oh-so familiar way the man moved. He could feel Emmett's eyes on him and looking over, realized Emmett had seen him also.

"I wasn't expecting to see him here tonight." Justin said, hoping Emmett would be forthcoming with more information. Like, who the guy was, who he was to Justin, that sort of thing.

Emmett and Ted exchanged glances. "Well, he comes to town every month or two to visit Gus. I guess it's just dumb luck that he showed up tonight." Emmett said, cautiously.

"Yeah, just my luck." Justin agreed, wondering who Gus was. "I suppose I couldn't hope to avoid him forever." Come on guys, give me a little more to go on here.

"Well, he'll probably spend all his time in the backroom, as usual, so you probably won't have to actually talk to him." Ted offered, trying to be helpful.

Almost as if hearing Ted's comment, the brunette headed toward an opening in the far corner of the building, trick following behind like an obedient puppy. That must be where the backroom was. Justin was getting frustrated. This wasn't getting him anywhere. Then something Emmett had said registered.

"You said he only comes to town occasionally. Where did he move too?" Maybe that would get the ball rolling again.

"Oh, Brian finally made it to NY, just like he always said he would." Ted responded. He still didn't get that Emmett was trying to avoid the whole 'Brian' subject.

Great! The guy's name was Brian. Now he was getting somewhere. "Well, I guess he's happy then." Justin directed this more toward Ted, since he seemed more eager to talk.

Ted snorted, "If the way he and his new boytoy were acting this morning, I'd say he is."

Emmett caught Justin's pained looked at Ted's words. As much as he loved Teddy, the man had the sensitivity of a board.

Justin watched as 'Brian' returned to the dance floor, minus the trick he'd left with. He looked around for Tee, but didn't see him anywhere. Determining that he had probably headed to the backroom, Justin decided that he could use a little pick-me-up as well. "Excuse me, gentlemen. I think I see tonight's special."

Em watched as Justin headed towards the dance floor, a good distance from where Brian was, then turned toward Ted and let him have it for constantly bringing Brian's name up in front of Justin. Ted, who hadn't stopped to consider the affect his words might be having, was rather ashamed of himself and promised Em he'd keep a lid on it for the rest of the evening.

Turning back to the dance floor, Em noticed that Justin was nowhere to be seen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Justin had quickly picked out a trick and headed for the backroom. He spotted Tee already engrossed with his current playmate, and heading further back, not wanting to interrupt (or watch, for that matter).
The trick had quickly dropped to his knees, pulling Justin's engorged cock from his pants and sliding in deep into his throat. Justin had moaned appreciatively, closing his eyes and letting his head drop back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Brian had not been impressed with his first trick's attempts at sucking him off, so was now in search of better prey. Finding one that suited him, he headed back for what he hoped would be a more satisfying experience. Tee was just leaving as Brian walked back in and they exchanged a brief smile before continuing on their separate ways.

Roaming through the niches and alcoves, Brian continued back, looking for a suitable place. Suddenly, he came to a dead stop, not believing the scene in front of him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seeing Emmett and Ted on the catwalk, Tee grabbed a beer and heading up to chat for a few minutes. "Hey, guys. Not dancing tonight?"
Emmett looked a little strained and Ted was downright morose. "Guess we're just not feeling up to it tonight sweetie." Emmett tried for a little more cheer. "Looks like your having a great time, though."
Tee smiled. "Yeah, this is a great place. Wish we had one back home." Looking around, Tee realized that his favorite person to torture was absent. "Where's Michael? I thought he be here."
Ted answered, deciding that this should be a safe enough subject. "He got tired of waiting and left. Guess he thought Brian wasn't going to show."
"Oh, how unfortunate." Tee smirked, not feeling the loss at all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Brian knew he should turn and walk back out. He knew that no good could come of the two of them being here at the same time. But somehow reason didn't seem to be in control at the moment.

Brian pushed his trick against the wall opposite where the blond was standing, turning them so that he could watch Justin's face. Lowering the man's jeans, Brian quickly prepared them both and slid his dick in to the hilt. Not waiting for the man to adjust, Brian began pumping in and out, the whole time keeping his eyes on his former lover.

Justin began to get that prickly feeling that you get when someone is watching you. Opening his eyes just a bit, his breathing, which had already been ragged, almost stopped completely. 'He' was watching him. Brian…He had some trick pinned to the wall, fucking him hard, eyes half closed but looking straight at him.

Brian nearly lost it when those blue eyes opened and locked onto his. He tried to look away, but couldn't, lost in the lust that was so evident in them. Lust that he remembered used to be for him. He continued to pump away at the trick in front of him, but in his mind, it was Justin he was fucking… Justin's ass that gripped his cock so tightly… Justin's eyes that looked at him with such longing.

Justin couldn't turn away…those hazel eyes held his fast…familiar, and yet not…the longing he saw there was almost overpowering…he wanted to close his eyes, but couldn't…couldn't turn away. He felt his orgasm building, driven on by those lust filled hazel eyes that wouldn't let his go. With a cry, he tore his eyes away, closing them as he exploded in the trick's mouth.

Seeing Justin cum in the trick's mouth spurred Brian's own orgasm on. As Justin's head fell back with a cry, Brian's fell forward onto the trick's back. With a shudder, Brian felt his limbs go weak. Getting his breathing under control, Brian attempted to straighten up, his limbs like rubber. Looking over, he saw that Justin was gone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Justin stumbled back out onto the dance floor, blindly looking for a way out. Barely able to stand, he settled for falling into a chair in a dark corner, hoping he'd remain unnoticed until he could get his wits together enough to make it to the door.
He saw Brian striding out from the backroom a few moments later. He looked around for a moment, then headed toward the stairs to the catwalk. Justin shrank back into the shadows. There was no way he could face this man in his current state of mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

'Fuck', Brian thought. How had the kid gotten away so fast? And what was he doing here anyway? Looking around the club, he noticed Emmett and Ted up on the catwalk. As he headed in their direction, he saw Tee out on the dance floor. Hopefully, he would stay there, as Brian didn't want to drag him into this.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emmett saw Brian heading their way and briefly considered making a hasty exit in the other direction. He'd seen Justin, then Brian, enter the backroom. A short while later, he saw Justin stumble out, then Brian storm out after that. This didn't bode well at all. Turning to Ted, Emmett warned him to keep his mouth shut this time. He would handle Brian… he hoped.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Where is he?" Brian snapped.

Emmett feigned disinterest. "If you're referring to your boytoy, he's on the dance floor."

Brian patience was practically non existent at this point. "You know that's not who I mean. Where's Justin?"

Emmett decided that equivocating wasn't going to get him anywhere right now. "Well, after he came stumbling out of the back room, shortly before your own reappearance, he became lost in the crowd. I expect that he's long gone by now."

Brian began to curse under his breath.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tee, seeing that Brian had rejoined the group on the catwalk, made his way back in that direction as well. He could see that Brian was upset about something and wondered if it had been a bad idea coming here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Brian saw Tee heading up the stairs and turned toward Emmett and Ted. "Not a word to Tee about Justin. This doesn't concern him." Hearing the implied threat in the brunette's voice, both the other men nodded in agreement.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tee rejoined the three men, sliding his arms around Brian's waist. He could feel the tension radiating between the trio, but could tell by Brian's closed face that it would be pointless to ask. Maybe this would be a good time to head out. "I think I've had enough fun for one evening, love. Ready to leave?"
Brian put his arm around the teen's shoulder, "Sure, I think I've relived my misspent youth enough for one night." Guiding Tee away from Ted and Emmett, Brian shot them both a final warning glance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Justin watched Brian as he talked to Emmett and Ted. He knew if he left the safety of the shadows in this corner, he'd most likely be spotted. He'd just wait for a bit longer before trying for the door.

As he waited, he noticed Tee heading up the stairs to the catwalk. He briefly wondered where Tee's friend, Brian, was…. Brian….Brian from the cruise….Justin had seen him on the cruise, even though he'd denied knowing him at the time…

Justin felt a growing knot of dread building in the pit of his stomach. He watched as Tee walked over and put his arms around Brian's waist, then as Brian put his arm around Tee and led him out.

'Oh, god no! It couldn't be…'
