Meant to Be

"You're what?" Jennifer cried. She'd always had an inkling that Justin was gay, right from the time that he was a very little boy, but moving out…so young…now that was a different matter.

"Why do you feel the need to move out, Justin. College is a big change, son. Give it a try and maybe next year, if you feel…" Craig added, only to be cut off by Justin.

"No, Dad…Mom…I'm moving out with…with my boyfriend."

"WHAT?" Again his parents shouted in unison.

They'd just found out that their son was truly gay not minutes before and now he had a boyfriend? One that he was apparently moving in with?

For some reason, which he couldn't fathom, it seemed to Justin like his parents had just skimmed over the information that he was gay but were apparently flipping out about the whole boyfriend thing. Did they maybe not understand exactly what he meant when he used the word gay, thinking the boyfriend part was actually just a boy who was his friend? Maybe they still equated the word gay with happy…like in the olden days…when they were young…

"Justin, you're too young…it's too early. How long have you known this, boy?"

Okay, so apparently they did get the whole 'gay' thing. But now he had to explain to them that Brian wasn't exactly a boy.

"I've been with Brian for two months, more or less." Okay, so more on the less side…but still.

"Two months? And why haven't we met this boy?"

Again with the boy.

But before Justin could answer his mother quickly nodded, realizing that obviously since they hadn't known their son was gay yet…

"Um, there's another thing."

"Oh, God, there's another thing. Craig, there's another thing. I just don't think I can take another thing, Justin," Jennifer said, dropping with a heavy sigh to the sofa.

Ignoring the little dramatic episode but realizing that he actually came by the 'flair' honestly, Justin said, "Brian, my boyfriend, well, he's um, twenty-nine."

"WHAT?"

'Oh, shit, here we go again.'

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"You told them? And they didn't freak?"

"Well, that would be putting it a little mildly, but no, they actually didn't scream or yell or offer me up to passing gypsies at a good rate."

"Fuck, that's so great. And, uh, you told them about me…about moving in with me?"

"Yeah, I did."

"And they agreed?"

"Um, agreement is such a strong word. Let's just say that they haven't tied me to the bed…just yet."

"Wow," Brian said in amazement. He was so fucking proud of his lover for standing up for himself. He'd wished he'd had the balls to do it when he was younger…hell, he couldn't even tell his mother now.

"But, they did kinda go a little ballistic when I told them how old you are." Justin's tone was gentle, knowing how much Brian hated to be reminded of his age. Not that he had a problem with their age difference. In fact, he loved that Brian was quite a bit older than he was. It made him feel safe and protected and cherished. And truth be told he also liked the fact that he was quite a bit younger than Brian. It made him feel sexy and desired and powerful.

"Oh."

"That's it…oh?"

"Yeah, hey, there's nothing I can do about it, so…"

Nodding, even though he knew Brian couldn't see him over the phone, Justin dropped the subject and said, "So, what time are you gonna pick me up tomorrow?"

They'd decided that they'd begin moving Justin's stuff in the following night, which was Friday, allowing them the entire weekend to get everything in and settled.

"How about I swing by after work? I'll bring a change of clothes so we can get started right away," Brian said eagerly.

"Great, so, I'd better get going. I have quite a bit more to pack and I wouldn't want to keep my roommate waiting when he gets here."

"Roommate, huh?"

"Boyfriend?" Justin asked sweetly.

"Better."

"Lover?" Justin purred.

"Mmm, much better."

Each one knew that the other was getting hard just thinking about the implications of the word. Reaching down in their lonely rooms to give their stiffening dicks a stroke, they smiled, knowing that after tomorrow night, they wouldn't be alone anymore.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"Justin, I'm still not too sure about this. What if you need something? What if there's an emergency? What if…"

"Mom, I'm not moving across the country. I'm only moving about twenty minutes away. And Brian has a car…and I can take care of myself…I can."

Nodding, trying desperately to hold back the threatening tears, Jennifer jumped slightly when the doorbell rang. "I'll get it."

"No, it's Brian, I'll get it."

Watching her son whiz past with excitement, she couldn't help but wonder if he was making the biggest mistake of his life. But she was a parent, and her job was to guide her child, not make his decisions…and she hoped with every fiber of her being that she'd done a good enough job.

"Daph, what are you doing here?"

"You think I'd miss this opportunity to finally meet the mysterious boyfriend?"

"Urghh, you're so frustrating. Fine, come in, just don't make a fool of yourself when he comes…or me."

Daphne just smiled and closed the door behind her.

"So, when's Mr. Wonderful due?"

"He should be here any…" Justin's sentence was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell, "…minute," he finished with a smile, heading toward the front door with a very curious Daphne following closely behind him. Pulling the heavy wood door back Justin smiled, coming face to face with his lover.

"Hey."

"Hey, Brian."

"Um-mph."

"Oh, and that grunting fool behind me is Daphne. Daph, this is Brian."

Moving beside him, Daphne shoved Justin out of the way in order to get a better look at the man. "Shit, you're gorgeous."

"Daph!"

Brian laughed and Daphne blushed, not having meant to blurt it out like that.

"Besides, he's MINE!" Justin said, sticking his tongue out while pulling Brian into the house.

"Real mature there, Sunshine."

"Sunshine?" Daphne asked with a smirk.

"Daphne, if I were you, I'd think about leaving right about now."

"Yeah, yeah, hint taken. Jeesh, what a crab." Then turning toward Brian she said, "But it was definitely a pleasure meeting you, Brian. Definitely."

"The pleasure's all mine, Daphne." And he leaned down, brushing his lips softly across the girl's cheek, smiling at her little squeak as he did.

"Yeah, pleasure…lots of pleasure," the woman mumbled aimlessly as she walked out the door, closing it behind her with a little wave.

"Shit, women, go figure," Justin said with a shake of his head.

"Hey, it could've been worse. She could've been just like Mikey and given me the third degree."

"Oh, yeah, that would've been really fun," Justin replied with a roll of his eyes, leading Brian toward the stairs. "Just remember, you still have to get by my mother…and father…and they'll make Daphne seem like a walk in the park."

"Great…bring it on."

Jennifer stood upstairs, hearing every word from the moment that Daphne'd entered the house. Okay, so she knew that she'd reprimanded Justin for eavesdropping, but this was different…she wasn't sure how, but it was.

"Mom? Oh, M-mom," Justin stumbled, almost walking right into his mother, not expecting her to be waiting so close to the top of the stairs. Giving her a knowing glance the woman just smiled and shrugged.

"This must be Brian."

"Yeah, Brian, my mother…Mom, this is my boyfriend, Brian."

The tension was thick…palpable…but both smiled and shook hands politely.

Jennifer cautiously eying the overtly handsome young…well, not so young man…

And Brian trying his best to look comfortable, when he was anything but.

"So, now that that's out of the way, we're just gonna go to my room. Brian wants to change and then we'll get started." Justin pointed out the way to Brian then followed him.

"Dear, um, shouldn't you wait outside while he changes?" Jennifer asked rather awkwardly.

"Mom, I'm moving in with him…he's my lover…it's fine."

And Jennifer smiled and waved…not really sure why…watching her son close the door while his LOVER changed in his room.

Taking several deep breaths she headed downstairs, in definite need of a drink.

"Two down, one to go."

"Justin, it'll be fine. Look, Daphne loved me and your mother seemed like a sweet woman."

"Yeah, so they've got you fooled already," the blond huffed, tossing himself back on his bed, watching his lover undress, trying to will down his stiffening cock.

"Baby, just relax." Brian noticed the change in the front of Justin's sweatpants and smiled, making more of a show of taking off his clothes.

"Brian, you're killing me here."

"You see anything you like?"

"I see everything I like."

Brian wiggled his eyebrows then peeled off his pants, slowly, torturously, bending over to give Justin a good look at his ass when he did.

"Urghhhh."

"Sorry, is this bothering you?" the older man asked innocently.

Deciding that two could play that game, Justin shook his head and replied, "No, not at all," while sliding his hand under the waistband of his sweatpants, taking hold of the steel rod now there.

"Justin."

"Hmph? Is this bothering you?" the blond asked innocently.

Brian watched, mesmerized by the sight of his lover jerking up and down, his knuckles pressed against the soft material, outlining them perfectly. Noticing the way his wet, pink tongue darted out to lick across his full lips as a light blush washed over his fair skin.

Swallowing hard Brian shook his head, but didn't answer. Unable to remain still he reached down, cupping his own erection through the thin cotton of his underwear, rubbing it swiftly.

Eyes locked, hands moving, mouths open and panting they jerked off simultaneously…oblivious to the threat of Justin's mother walking in…and really way past the point of even caring.

"Brian," Justin whispered, the longing in his voice so clear.

"Baby," Brian's voice echoed the same emotion.

Groans stifled, they came together, shooting hard and fast inside the confinements of their clothes.

Falling forward, ignoring the whine of the bedsprings, Brian landed on top of Justin, their faces coming together, their mouths joining in a heated kiss.

"I love you."

"I love you."

Pulling Brian's hand up to his mouth, Justin made a show of licking each finger clean, one right after the other, watching the man's hazel eyes deepen, glazing over with desire. And when he was done, he took his own hand, placing the first finger against his lips, only to have it pulled away and shoved deep into Brian's warm, wet mouth.

Justin couldn't help but shiver, feeling his erection growing harder he shifted slightly, sighing when it brushed against Brian's.

"Justin, is, uh, Brian almost done?"

"Shit, um, yeah, Mom, almost."

"Okay, well, I'll be right outside."

Shaking his head, Justin smiled, groaning silently as Brian ground his hips against his, his eyes giving promise of a later filled with no closed doors, no mother's outside, no need for silence…just pure, glorious fucking…and the blond couldn't wait.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"Well, I think that's about it for today. We'll come by tomorrow to get the rest of my stuff."

"I guess, right, okay. It's too bad that your father didn't make it home in time to see you off."

"Yeah, well, I'll catch him tomorrow."

"Okay, so…oh, here he is now."

Jennifer, Justin and Brian stood watching as Craig's car pulled into the driveway and he got out, heading toward them.

"Justin, glad I didn't miss you. Sorry, the office was a zoo today. So, this must be, Brian."

Brian took the offered hand, shaking it firmly, knowing that the man would size him up accordingly.

"Yeah, Dad, this is Brian. Brian Kinney, my father, Craig Taylor."

"It's nice to meet you, Craig," Brian said with a nod. He knew he could call him 'sir', but that was just a little too much sucking up for his taste.

"Brian." Craig's eyes flitted over the other man appraising him, deciding that while he seemed a little too old for Justin, he looked honest and decent enough. Turning his attention toward his son, he asked, "You all set? Everything loaded already?"

"All done. I told mom I'd get the rest tomorrow."

"Good, okay, so I guess this is it for now. So, um, we'll see you tomorrow, right?"

"Right."

Justin felt the awkwardness but he also felt something else. Kind of like a vivid sense of the end…like this was it, he was leaving home and never coming back. But he knew he'd be back…hell, he'd be back tomorrow. And on birthdays and holidays and special occasions and dinners and barbeques and…

"So, give me a kiss and let's get this over with," Jennifer said, tears looming in the corners of her eyes as she moved forward, taking her son in her arms and holding him tight. "Love you."

"I love you too, Mom. You too, Dad."

"Love you, Justin. We're always here if you need us. You know that, right?"

"Yeah, I know, Dad." Pulling back Justin smiled, the tears clouding his vision dampening the brightness somewhat, but still.

Standing on the driveway Justin watched as his father put his arm around his mother's shoulder, leading her inside. Just before the door closed they turned around and gave a gentle wave, which Justin quickly returned then watched as the door on his childhood home shut.

Wiping quickly at the tears spilling from his eyes with the back of his hand he smiled and sighed as he felt Brian's arm come up around his own shoulder, cradling him, protecting him and he leaned into the embrace.

"So, you ready?"

Looking up, Justin smiled and said, "Definitely." And he wrapped his arm around Brian's waist as they headed for the loaded Jeep…oblivious to the two sets of teary eyes watching from the living room window.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"Fuck, I'm glad that's over with. But I have to say, it went much better than I expected."

Justin turned away from the passenger side window to look at his lover's beautiful face and smiled. It had gone much better than he'd hoped for as well. He had to admire the courage and strength of his parents…accepting him so easily and with such love.

But then he remembered something and burst out laughing.

"What?"

Justin just kept on laughing.

"What?" Brian asked with more force.

Taking several calming breaths, Justin said, "You think you're done? You ain't seen nothin yet."

"Huh?"

"I forgot…my sister's due back from sleepover camp on Sunday. Getting past her, now THAT'S gonna be interesting to watch."

"Oh, shit!"
