L is for Legendary

Emmett and Michael leaned against the bar at Babylon.  They both looked out at the dance floor where their friend was dancing with the "blond".  That was how Michael liked to describe Justin, using as much disdain as he could muster when he said the word.  What Brian saw in the little twink Michael would never understand.

Emmett glanced at his friend's face, noting the furrowed brow and the hard line of his mouth.  Emmett let out a soft sigh.  Michael seemed unable to come to terms with his best friend and the "blond".  Emmett turned his attention back to the dance floor.  Most other people were watching the same thing - the Brian and Justin show, as many of the regulars at Babylon called it.  It was like blatant sex on the dance floor.  The two were totally oblivious to the rest of the world as they ground against each other in a dance uniquely their own.

"That kid has no shame!" Michael declared.

Emmett giggled.  "And just how many people in here have any shame?" he asked in reply.

''Anybody has more shame than that 'blond'."

"Michael..."

"Don't ... Don't try to defend him.  There's nothing good about him.  He's brazen and flaunts himself and..."

"Goes after what he wants," Emmett supplied.

"And that's supposed to make it all right?" Michael asked.

"It really has nothing to do with you."

"It certainly does.  Brian is my..."

"...best friend," Emmett completed the statement that Michael was all too ready to keep repeating.  "We all know that Brian is your best friend, but Brian makes his own decisions."

"How he could decide to let that little ... move in with him is beyond me."

Emmett felt like telling Michael that a lot of things were beyond him, but decided to take a different tack.  "You know, they're becoming quite famous."

"Who?  What do you mean?" Michael asked in bewilderment.

"The Stud of Liberty Avenue and his blond twink.  I bet somebody will write a song about them one day, or a book, or make a TV show.  They're becoming a legend."

"The 'blond' already is a legend in his own mind," Michael snarked.

Emmett shook his head.  There was no point in continuing this discussion.  Michael would not be moved in his opinions.  Emmett turned his attention back to Brian and Justin.  He smiled softly as he watched them.  He couldn't remember Brian Kinney ever looking so sexy and so turned on and so ... happy.  He hoped it would continue, but in case it didn't maybe he'd write "The Legend of Brian and Justin" himself.

Michael looked at his friend when he heard the little laugh that came from his friend.  There was nothing funny about the scene in front of them, nothing interesting or exciting.  Why was he the only one who seemed to know that?

Meanwhile out on the dance floor Brian and Justin continued their moves unaware of the sensation they created.
